Seriously? A new character? What are the chances of a kid from San Francisco coming out to Nowheresville, Nevada and his old friend Sam just happens to be living there? Plus, Sam never mentioned a "Zach" in the books. Sorry if I sound really annoyed, but I hate new characters unless they are done really, really well.
