Love your characterisations. Especially Love the scene where Hermione lets slip about Harry being short-listed for the new MoM when Kingsley retires. Never thought of Kingsley as being that old myself, but people retire for many reasons, not just old age. Also, I do not think Harry would consider being MoM in a pink fit. He hates being in the lime-light and being MoM would put him squarely in the spot-light.
Ginny let go of her anger pretty quickly... again, a trait that I do not think feiry Ginny Weasley would suffer from. I think she would have had a go at Harry once the rels had left. Sorry..., keep pushing my interpretation of the characters don't I? On the whole, I love yours. There are just the odd little things. Like how James looks and Hugo. Not what I have always envisioned, but this is your story and I really am enjopying it.

Nice start. I love post-war fics, especially those featuring Harry and Ginny and their family. I like this premise. I do not think it would be easy for Harry to realise that he is not solely responsible for the safety of the wizarding World. I can't wait to see him realise that his family is his first priority.
My one objection is that I do not feel that Harry and Ginny would refer to Ron and Hermione as 'guests'. I feel that they would just be an extension of their family unit and they would be at each other's homes more often than not... well, perhaps not Uncle Harry so much as he is so busy keeping the WW safe.
Still, this is not a problem at all. Onto chapter 2.

That was an epic story and I enjoyed reading the story. Thanks for writing.

Well that was an epic! Fantastic thriller, the twists and turns were pure genius. I was up to chapter 10, and thinking "This seems pretty much tied up, how can she possible have nine chapters still to go?"
I loved the care for detail you have obviously put into this story. Descpite the fact that a lot of details are now not canon (sif JK give us more information!) the fact that you have so carefully mapped it out makes it worthwhile... although even I was little skeptical about the number of twins :)
Off to read the next one - looking forward to it!
Thanks again for the fantastic story.

Wow, just wow.
I loved this story and especially the ending
"I'm Daddy!"
CLASSIC.
I'm in the south of France and it is currently 320 am and I am reading your story, that is how much I enjoy your work!

Hello!
I am just writing to let you know that I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed both of your longer stories, ‘The Letter’ and ‘Great Expectations’. I too was left wishing there was more to be read between the last chapter and the epilogue in the DH. I wanted to know what happened during that 19-year gap, so after just finishing the book for the second time I went in search for some great fan fiction. ‘Great Expectations’ was the first one I stumbled upon and was so excited by it finished it in a day! Both of these stories (the others too-but these were my favourites) have been so in depth and I was amazed by the great storylines and the way they flowed on so easily from the DH. My words cannot do your stories justice but I thank you for writing them for people such as myself to enjoy. They have provided me with hours of relaxing fantasy time!
Happy writing,
-Hayley

"'Your uncle?' said the boy in a voice of exaggerated incredulity. 'How can he be your uncle?'
'He married my aunt, that makes him my uncle,' Fred replied with irrefutable logic."
Oh, Fred. XD
As I am now, in terms of writing/reading experience and my knowledge of the HP world and its characters, I don't really know how to point out and describe in detail what I like best about this story, but I do know that this was very good. I think it was the themes and how much of the story was centered on family and the feelings associated with them. It was also a great pleasure to watch the characters we know and love as adults, moreover as /parents/. Kudos on creating such a gem, and best of luck on writing your novel!

I'm still new to the Harry Potter fandom, so I was just lurking around some forums for fic recommendations until I came across this. I like the way this is going so far: the characterization feels right, and the plot seems intriguing. This story is going to be good. :)

Lovely story. I really like it so far. The mystery's woven in very well and even though I don't like most Harry/Ginny stories, this one is quite superb. There's something that I'd like to point out though. I don't think Neville could've Apparated home every evening because you can't Apparate on Hogwarts grounds, you know? That's why you would need to Apparate to Hogsmade THEN walk to Hogwarts...
Maybe you figured it out already, but just in case, you know.
Good job on the story!

Great ending to a really nice story. Well, wonderful is a good word too.
I still think Zabini was a closet Dumbeldore follower, and doesn't believe in any type of blood status baloney. Bet he would make a great Potions professor.
Interestingly enough I haven't seen any fanfics, even one shots, that have James as a main character. They seem to be about Albus, Lily, and Scorpius Malfoy with James and the rest of the Weasley/Potter children as side characters. I'm guessing it's because people find the trio thing so much easier to write. Maybe someone will come up with a James story, or maybe a story on the Weasley overrun/overthrow of Hogwarts?

Cliff-hangers is why I wait to read a story until it's completed. If the story is a good one I will read it regardless of cliff-hangers. If there are too many cliff-hangers I just ignore the story and go read something else until I see it's completed. I'm strange that way.
I am liking this story very much. The little twists and turns are great. Never would have thought of another Scrimgeour brother, but then there was no family mentioned the series that I remember.
I'm also betting with Ron's strategizing ability they are going to come up with a great plan and it will succeed.

Very interesting progression. I'm spouting about what Harry's reasoning might be and then I read it in your next chapter. I will say I didn't think Zabini had that attitude at Hogwarts. I considered him a closet Dumbledore's way of thinking person. Didn't think he was a pureblood snob. Kind of thought he might have even fought with the good guys if given the opportunity. As I remember, ALL the Slytherins were forced to leave the school because no one was going to take the chance of having a pretend sympathizer.
I do remember Cormac's hunting story and I remember who he was hunting with, and am thinking I'm on to something with the whole Scrimgeour is the head bad guy here.
Teddy would no more turn down an opportunity to help Harry and his family than he would voluntarily stop breathing. He loves Harry and family and considers them his own, which is exactly how Harry and family consider him.
And from Ginny's tale, I think Zabini really was a closet Dumbledore sympathizer and his attitude in Harry's office is a form of selfprotection.
I'm still thinking James is going to get to travel on the Hogwarts Express with the rest of his class. The bad guys could always try and grab one or two of the oousins as hostages if James wasn't there.
Claude's a goner. Bet he was being pressured to deliver something he refused and they used him as a) an example, b) so no one else could use what they wanted.

This is fun. Sounds like it might get a little hairy(pun intended) and I'm thinking you've already given a huge hint as to who the ringleader is. Scrimgeour's son has to be behind all this. He thinks Harry is responsible for his father being killed, got the job that should have been his, and I'm betting we find out he's related to MacLeggen.
Your character's are very real, very JKRish.
I would not want to be the bad guy who threatened Ginny's children and was caught by her, or by Molly, Arthur or any of her brother's. No mercy would be shown in the least. You do not seriously threaten a Weasley and live if they catch you.
I was thinking Harry might come to the conclusion that Hogwarts would be safe because he was under a death threat his entire childhood and it was the safest place for him. However there is the small point that Dumbledore is dead and that's who made Hogwarts as safe as it was.
Blaise Zabini was one of the good guys in Slytherin. I can't imagine him harming Harry and Ginny's children.
I shall read on and find out what happens.
