I love the debate between Claes and Black shows how the world isn't as black and white as people make it seem. I love the reference to Life Goes On by Sheo Darren I think. Mirasol was awesome. I also think the characters are really in character such as Jean being a Jerkass.

Beautiful fic, with a very intelligent and relevant discussion between Claes and Black. Reminds me to start picking up my GSG fics, depressing as the series is.
- “If you and a friend are alone and unarmed in the jungle and being chased by a tiger, what’s the single, best thing you can do to increase your chances for survival?”
- Jean figured Lorenzo wasn’t expecting an answer so he shrugged and said nothing.
- “Trip your friend and run.”
I'd turn around and face the tiger, because generally the tiger is an ambush predator who likes attacking when you've got your back on it.
Also because the idea of leaving Claes as a decoy is... well...
Anyway, kudos!

Oh this is going to be good. It was a bit hard to follow your Claes and Black conversation it would have helped if you somehow made the text for their replies different (bold text perhaps?), but other than that, I hope to see what you do with this story.

More work out of Maxwell, Awesome. A lovely little chapter to be sure. I really love the back, and forth between Black, and Claes. It's a little bit of self gratifying mental debate, but that makes it so delightful a read. I really can't wait to see more chapters. Now I have to run off, and read you Old Guard update.
