This breaks my heart. All those wasted years! I love the started, not finished letters, that are far more like diary entries and seem way too personal to send to Dumbledore. I can see why he didn't send them, but I love that Lupin tried to put these thoughts down on paper.
You really convey his hurt through unfinished letters, breaking it off whenever it gets all too painful. This creates a strong effect.
"eople always say that bad things happen for a reason. That in the end you will forgive. That in the end you will understand.
Well, I have not forgiven or understood at all."
That's so sad, but beautifully written. It shows us how much he is haunted by what has happened.
I also loved Dumbledore's letter to Lupin, which communicated care and concern within the boundaries of their relationship.
That final letter, that relieving, "happy ending", I had mixed feelings about. It was wonderfully written and I love the sentiment of hope in Harry it conveys. I also like that Lupin did finally finish a letter and, apparently, send it. On the other hand, I feel that it is very personal, given that he hasn't written before. Not quite sure what to think of it.

Ahh this is so sweet. I love how he found it hard to finish the letters and the bits about how it would be too painful to see Harry I loved it :)

I randomly Googled my pen name and fanfiction-awn+fanfiction-and came to your Profile, and discovered I was your first reviewer. I'm deeply honoured to be so and I want to review a recent fic of yours. Actually, I've forbidden myself to read fanfic until I finish the drafts of my next novel-length and I've done pretty well, but with 1/3 to go I need to read a little after six months.
Anyway, about your fic:
I like the idea, and the fact most of Remus' drafts were half finished. I can imagine he found it hard to write to Dumbledore, and that he tried to apply for the job as a teacher multiple times, though became scared and backed out. I really liked the fact Remus was curious about Harry's appearance and personality, I always imagined Remus concerned by Harry's well-being even before PoA.
Very good!

That is cute. I'm not a big fan-fan of Lupin . . . I mean, I like him and all, but he doesn't seem to be as intriguing as my all-beloved Snape.
In any case, I liked this. It seems like something he would do.

I really like this, I think dumbledore's letter is so characteristic of Dumbledore, and it's wonderful that it helps Remus feel better. The more I read of this story, the more I enjoyed it.
