Well, I'm glad Jon hasn't given up on Trip! LOL, and if there's Trip whumping ahead, even better :)!
Just a minor thing, but I thought I'd mention it - Malcolm seems a little too emotional in this chapter; he's more the type to withdraw and clam up when he's hurt, worried etc.
Just a small thing, though, I'm looking forward to the next installment :)! Thanks for sharing!

I liked it, although I'll just imagine Trip made it back, after all :). Nice use of dialogue, I'm looking forward to reading more from you!

Short, but nice. I especially like Trip being honest when Malcolm asks him if he will really be dead before he hits the ground. I also like the implicit slash.
