Hmm. Angsty. I like! Parts of this were a bit awkward (there were a few typos too), but it didn't detract from the overall meaning of the piece. Everyone always portrays Lily as being so smart, so pretty, so perfect...it's nice to see another side of her, an "ignorant" side, and to see that James is, in fact, aware of it; he hurts, but he can't help the way he feels for her. My favorite part was when James was pondering why Lily seems to be able to give everyone a second chance but him, and later, why she seems to be able to FORGIVE everyone but him. Makes me think that perhaps she does realize the power she has over him, which would explain why she's so cold: she doesn't want him to have that same power over her...I don't know, I'm reaching, but see? That's what I love about your writing: it's so complex that I can't help dissecting it. :)
Oh, and I don't think you should continue. I think the story stands better on its own. Doing a sequel from Lily's POV might be interesting though (I had always planned to do that with "To Love or to Hate," but I lost the inspiration for it lol).

It was good to see James being a bit more mature. All the James/Lily stuff I've seen lately is fluffy. It's also nice to see Lily being different as well. It would have been quite easy for her to act like that.
