Hmmm... such a very weird situation you created. Being the queen, but, still, she had to walk to the infirmary and waited for her cue? Why didn't she call the doctor to visit her chamber instead? I think she unnecessarily lowered her status in this chapter. Ashe can be friendly and forget her status in her private time with her close friends and circle but there're social classes for a reason. Outside her chamber, she is the queen of Dalmasca, not a mere noble.
Your plot is good, so good that I love to read it but you always add some odd details which doesn't make any sense. Sometimes, many characters had no respect for the queen while they insisted calling her "Your Majesty".

Your "Illusion of Freedom" is very good (though it's odd that you mention "save crystal" in some chapter). I really didn't expect to find Balthier died in the first chapter of this story! Thanks god you completed this story years ago so I can continue and find out how it will end.
Thanks for writing and sharing! Honestly, if I didn't know it was Marskot who stabbed Balthier which led him to his demise (as you wrote so), I'd think it was the Tonberry! It's the only monster in Final Fantasy who possesses just a knife and a lamp and can stab you fatally in one go XD

I just finished reading both of your stories for Final Fantasy 12. very good! O shame that you won't be writing for these characters anymore because I did see possibilities of further stories within your writing style here. maybe someday you'll revisit it, one can only hope! :)

An absolutely fantastic sequel! I loved the intensity of this story. It kept me hooked. I read the entire, giant thing in one sitting. Again, great job with the characters. They seemed like themselves. The emotion of the story was genuine, too. And a lovely ending!

This chapter was SO ADORABLE! I loved Balthier being the irascible husband/male who is not initiated into the mysteries of birth. I find it very difficult to imagine Balthier as a father but you made it feel very natural (I also found it difficult to envision him as a husband and princess consort but you managed that quite nicely too). What I love about this game is that the characters are so vivid yet easily adaptable to so many situations. Balthier seems destined to birth nothing but daughters: it seems right with him somehow. Ooh... being Balthier's daughter's first boyfriend would have to be the most terrifying thing in the world! Your reference to dear Ffamran's mother was also a nice touch :)
Sorry, I'm gushing a little bit but it's only because this is your last one. It saddens me because you're such a great writer and I really love your treatment of these characters' stories. Farewell for the time being and I'm sure the future will be bright! Just keep writing, even if it's not this.

I like this. The best endings are the ones that are sweet with just a little bit of bitter - because nothing will every go back to the way it was before. None of this "Ding-dong, the witch is dead!" stuff. I hate that. Well done!

Sorry, the only reason why I haven't reviewed is that I've been away for the summer. I still think this story is one of my favourites :)
I may have said it before, but I'll say it again: fight scenes are your strength. I was wondering, as we approached this juncture, how you were going to make such a battle not be anticlimactic, but you did it. My heart was in my throat the whole time!
So now it's done (maybe?). I can't wait to see how the other storylines will be resolved!

Yes! They finally meet up again. The scene with Sard and Balthier was really well done. I was happy to see Fran again as well (though I think you should have gone with 'ebony' instead of 'ivory' there). Thanks for the update :)
