I've been looking for a fic about the relationship between Neville and Lupin for days and then I finally found this. What can I say, it's exactly what I've been looking for!
"He wanted to say that he had become a teacher mostly because he wanted to follow Lupin’s path, to keep helping students just like Lupin had done with him." So true to his character! I loved how you enumerated all the things Neville wanted to say but couldn't. And how, in the end, he finally finds peace and 'modifies' the memory.

Ah, never mind. As usual, this is FANTASTIC. This is one of the most creative stories I've ever read! These are two characters who I would never have thought to put together, but you did it REALLY well. Keep it up! :D
