I laughed, I cried, my heart broke. Sometimes I forget about how horrible a fate Sirius was dealt (I'm currently re-listening to OotP and I've been on a month hiatus because I can't bring myself to listen to Sirius die yet again) but I loved this fic because it shows that he lived such a whole life before Azkaban. Does that make his fate worse? Maybe, but at least he lived? I also was reminded why I don't read as many canon-compliant fics haha (this is brilliant, don't get me wrong) because while I was reading, I nervously kept an eye on the scroll bar and knew that the happiness they had was fleeting.
I love the dynamic between the two. The toxic masculinity feels on brand. But I also love that they were able to show their feelings/emotions and how much the other meant to them when needed, which was sweet. I also loved the dynamic between Sirius and Lily and James' perception of it. The quiet whispering between the two during Sirius's best man speech was a nice touch.
I also think the humor is so insanely perfect in this. When Lily asks James who he wants his best man to be. The line "Maybe he needs to rethink this marriage thing" was perfect.

I'm more than 10 years late to the party but damn that. This is so good, so beautifully written that you've left a mark in this website, or at least in all of our hearts.
This is the Sirius & James friendship I've wanted to read. Fan fictions usually don't word it well enough - it's usually not written properly, but DAMN you've given them justice.
To begin with, I LOVE your narrative and how their energy and crazed insanity of that duo's minds clearly shine through. How they're in sync with each other that not even words are needed. They don't even have to look at each other in the eye - they know. They just know.
If I were to begin with the parts I liked and the details in this story, this review would be too long and I'm kind of in a hurry right now.
So I'll end with a thanks. I don't think you'll ever see this, but thank you for writing this.
