I see it hasn't been updated in three years, a shame. I spent a while searching for this because I remembered the story but not the title. My guess is that it will never be updated again; which makes me a bit sad. It's been a very long time since I've read this I think the last I read was chapter 19 or so.

I won't say your name for privacy's sake but we've known each other since 3rd grade? Went to college together. I'd love to know that you're still writing. Love you much (if its you that is...) from LB if this is EM.

There’s something about this story that I just love, I know medieval AUs can be hit or miss but this one has been wonderful to read with the characters fitting this sort of setting remarkably well. I especially liked your take on Nekozawa and Bereznoff, the myth about spirits entering your body while you sleep was an interesting addition.
I can’t tell you how happy I was to read a recent update on your profile saying that you’re still working on this. I also read that you’re planning a rewrite on the early chapters; I have observed that there has been a notable improvement. It’s not so drastic that the earlier writing was any less engaging, the chapter length merely seems to have increased and some of the paragraphs were split a bit more effectively.
As for my predictions/suggestions...
I believe that Haruhi will end up going to the castle, perhaps after a fight with Nekozawa over his mistreatment of her childhood friend and overall controlling nature. Kaoru advises Nekozawa to give her some space and promises to ensure her safety while they’re apart. Maybe they'd taken her back to her village and she’s attacked by Arai, devastated she blames Nekozawa but also realizes how much she’s changed since living in her village, she can no longer imagine living out her entire life as a farm wife. Kaoru offers to train her in Nekozawa’s place and persuades her to return with them to the castle. The next morning she runs into Hikaru while looking for his brother, she apologizes profusely and smiles saying she’s happy to finally meet the brother she’d heard about on her journey there. She rushes off leaving him standing there pondering how she noticed when he was wearing his civilian clothing. This might lead to him developing feelings for her despite his vows as a knight and he tries to persuade her to give up magic. But after having returned to her village and feeling out of place she feels magic has become apart of her, a piece she hadn’t known she was missing. Maybe she’ll show interest and talent for learning medicine from Kyoya. Tamaki will probably fall for her as well but she will be unwilling to immerse herself in the politics of the court and the drama of coming between him and his fiancé as well as the courtesan Eclair. Weary of that life she’ll go back to Nekozawa planning to stay on the condition that her family knows that she has willingly made the decision to remain with him and her allowance to visit them on her choosing. She, however, finds him about to be confronted by angry villagers, he’s about to cast a spell to kill all the attackers but she throws her arms around him. This either causes the spell to backfire and hit her or the mob injures her by mistake. Perhaps this causes Bereznoff to do something selfless and save Haruhi leading him to either pass on in peace or Haruhi will accept both of them and the two will completely merge. This would remove all Bereznoffs restless struggles against being contained. I’m not sure if you’ll add it but because Kaoru is a white wizard I’m hoping Haruhi becomes grey in the magic she performs. Also maybe we see Nekozawa noticing the spark for magic in Haruhi on one of his early visits.

Thank you for the fantastic update! I greatly enjoyed reading it as always. Also, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Bella told me about the update. She is obsessed with your story. Tells everyone that there are such great fanfiction writers and brings you as an example. Bella, sorry, girl, you are busted! There are so many things in this chapter that I enjoyed. Let's start with Bereznoff begging and crying. I loved that Haruhi went on to comfort that ungrateful bastard. I think he is going to warm up to her soon enough. Nekozawa's headaches are so interesting. Does it have something to do with Bereznoff being in his head? Their union is so intriguing. For a moment, I thought Bereznoff is supposed to die and leave Nekozawa alone. But I think some type of complete merging might occur once they fall in love with Haruhi. I remember in previous chapter Nekozawa dreaming of children. Was that past thing or just a dream?
Second, loved that Haruhi scared Bereznoff when he decided to act like a jerk. I wish she punched the damn bastard. Doesn't like Haruhi as if there is someone else to like.
And third, I can't say how much I laughed reading the Mori moment. People are right, that deserves it's own spin off. Good thing I wasn't eating or I would have choked on my food.

That Mori part cracked me up. I wouldn't mind to read a separate story on that.
Bereznoff is so weird and what is up with him. Is there some curse that chained him to Nekozawa? Where does he come from? I want to know his backstory and maybe even about his previous victims. Does Nekozawa's magic powers come from Bereznoff, or he had them to begin with? What's up with that older Haruhi? Is it really Haruhi or just some other entity somehow connected with the specter that took Haruhi's shape. This story is so interested and there are so many things that needs to be explained. I can't wait. I mean I really can't wait. I enjoyed it, but this chapter brought more questions. Your writing is super, but you must know that already.
