Of course Snape expects a blow (and it seems odd that he should be at Sirius Black's beck and call, but the story probably demands it). Why should he expect anything else from either side? As for 'making merry', he was probably catching up on grading and trying to finish the potion in time. When would he have time to make merry, even if there was someone who treated him decently enough to make him want to do so?
Glad to see that Sirius Black reformed, though!

Given that Snape was a) tormented for seven years, b) nearly killed and c) nobody ever cared about it, and these are supposedly the _good_ guys-it's amazing he's on the Order's side at all, or cares if Sirius is alive or dead. Even McGonagall puts them on an equal basis, and she was one of those who allowed the Marauders to nearly kill him. Special, isn't she? And yet, Severus does care (for which, of course, Rowling condemns him to die in a ditch with no memorial worth speaking of). Sirius is well beloved, while Snape has no one who has ever cared for him, as far as I can tell. Why _should_ he see that Sirius was a good man? He keeps being told that the people who made life hell for him were good. And he should believe any of it why?
But Sirius never remembers the Whomping Willow at all. Why is that? Shouldn't that be an important part of his life?

Oh, good chapter-bringing in his work at B&B was excellent towards characterizing Voldemort (although the rusty locket is probably actually tarnished-silver tarnishes, steel rusts), and throwing in Dung Fletcher was great.
And having Bella bring in the Veil was really good.

I always did wonder why the Order never had a service or a wake for Sirius Black (or why Dumbledore never made sure he had a trial once they knew he was innocent, for another). Funerals are for the living, and I think one would have helped Harry a lot.

Yes-Sirius was surrounded by love on all sides, and refused it. More fool him!

Cute adaptation (although in the original, Scrooge was shown people he didn't already know and love. It would have been interesting to see Sirius' reaction to that sort of thing-of _course_ he's going to care about Remus. Caring about someone you aren't already friends with is the hard part. Note that Dumbledore was surprised that Snape could rescue Harry over and over again without actually liking him much).

Nice scene! I'm glad Christmas Present lends a kindly glow on these family scenes.

Peter makes an interesting Ghost of Christmas Present-I normally see Hagrid in this role, but this Peter works.

Somehow I reviewed this out of order-I wonder who the brown-eyed girl was?
And if this is about Christmas past, are there no pranks on Snivelly that Sirius and James would enjoy remembering?

A pity Sirius didn't see the sort of Christmas Snape had as a child-but then, anyone who isn't a Marauder isn't important, really. And this is about Sirius, and what he's concerned about.

Good entrance by James. But then, he's the one who said "Because he exists" without any help from Sirius, isn't he? Yet he blames his plight on his dear friend. Sigh.

Poor Regulus! He died to destroy a Horcrux, and this is what he gets for it. Typical-isn't that what happens to all Slytherins who work for the Light?
Good first chapter, glad to see you back!

I really like this so far. I've never read the book itself (I should though, especially with Christmas in a couple weeks) but A Muppet Christmas Carol was a favorite movie of mine when I was a kid. It's interesting to see it get the Harry Potter treatment.
