Nice start. I can see by this that you're not necessarily sticking to cannon since it doesn't appear that up to this point Jane has changed his decor much from the first episode. But then, who knows given that we haven't really seen his home since then.
I really liked the last bit of dialog - don't leave the country .. very cute! I also thought it was interesting that you chose a child with an ethnic background. Is anyone gonna plunge down on the CBI to claim rights to him? Oh, gives me ideas about the killer, but I can't give it up for the chance that I might be close. I'll keep my suspicions to myself, but I'm probably wrong.
