Hmmm this was pretty good :) but can you describe Dustfinger's way of making fire.i mean can you mention the words he speaks to make it a little more interesting.

Dustfinger's run in with the fire raisers was before he married Roxane. He got his scars because Bast lusted after Roxane but she preferred Dustfinger so he ambushed him in the Wayless Wood, beat him, and slashed his face. Then she takes him to the Barn Owl. Dustfinger Basta and Capricorn are pulled out of Inkheart in the seventh chapter. by this point he should be in his mid twenties married and a father to two daughters.

...Holy crud. The ending was freaking awesome! I think that you are doing a great job with this story. You're keeping everyone in character, and you're weaving the story well. I have absolutely no complaints, and I feel so bad for Dustfinger's doubts...I love the romance between him and Roxane too. This story is unbelievable, Bravo! Thanks for posting,

Grr...I hate Capricorns men. This is exactly how I pictured an execution going with the Shadow, I'm just glad that in Cornelia's book, we never got to see it. I'm not the Shadow's biggest fan... Blech. Great job, and I love how you brought in Gwin. That seems the most reasonable way that he arrived- especially since I've always thought of Dustfinger as this crazy compassionate guy, so it makes sense that he wouldn't eat the marten. Thanks for posting, reading on...

I love the ending of this, and I could really see this being the basis for the original Inkheart story. It seems like something Fenoglio would write, and I think you're doing really well with this. I hope everything turns out okay for Dustfinger here...
