Wow, what a moving, intense, and insightful look at the events and aftermath of 'On The Head of a Pin.' I love that you captured both Sam's love for Dean and the danger he is in from this incredible power and demon blood high.

This really hit me. It's fantastic and the characters feel just right. Awesome stuff!

You've captured Cas' voice and personality beautifully, here!

Ohhh this was great too! Girl you are so rockin' in the characterizations and head on points that should've been pointed out to us. A pity you couldn't have written for the show ;)

Totally awesome! Poor Dean... and Sam and even Cas! Emotional twists and turmoils here. Wonderfully written! :D :D Thanks so much for sharing!

I like this story. Dean in the scene where Cas gets inside his head is funny and very in-character. I liked your portrayal of Castiel, and Sam too. The last line is a nice touch, too. Great job with this!

This is one of the best codas for On the Head of a Pin that I've read. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this. The conversation in Dean's head was excellent. Dean's smart mouth was amusing. I've often silently applauded Castiel for putting up with it. The angel is admirably patient. Again, as in your other stories, there's no sugar coating things between the brothers. I can never understand why some people won't let them grow up. As much as I love my own siblings, there are other people equally important to me, and I don't see why the same shouldn't be allowed for Sam and Dean. I think you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, lovely piece. I wish Dean had indeed confided in Castiel about Alistair. It would have made good viewing.

I am trying to catch up with some of your other stories!

I do like the grim reality you give this tag – much as you say in your note at the top I didn't find many tags to this episode that didn't whitewash what this episode signified: a huge moral slip for Sam even if it did seem like his only option. You manage to inject this with the love he feels for Dean - which informs his actions – but also suggest the darker side of his addiction to the power.

Really well done, beautifully written as all of your fiction is, and a breath of fresh air compared to the type of 'Sam can do no wrong' S4 stories and oneshots that drove me off this site for so long.

Ah, time to catch up your oneshots.

"Sam blurts out, ‘Can’t you just fly him there?"

"More real than Sam has ever seen him. Sam suddenly feels like an outsider looking in at a private, intimate moment. And he can’t help this lightning bolt of red hot jealousy. It should be me back there."

I've been very bothered this season by the relationship (or lack thereof) between the boys. If you look at the difference between even season 3 and season 4, it's shocking. Sam, frankly, has completely gone off the reservation. It 's frankly come full circle with me...I didn't like him in season one, came to like him in season 2, liked him quite a lot in 3, and now I want someone to punch him in his giant skull.

"The morals of a fucking alleycat on display for an Angel of the fucking Lord, and Christ somebody stop me—’"

If anybody deserves a few moral inadequacies, it's Dean.

I liked that you pointed out that even tho' Dean broke and did torture souls, that didn't turn him into a demon...there's something there that provided him the wherewithal to brick off that spark of humanity inside him.

Good on ya! On to the next!

This was good. I can imagine it happening just like this. I also believe that Sam's ego has really gotten that big. Dean is the righteous man like you say but also in the love he has. He gave his life and soul for his brother. Not many would do that out of love. Dean has always bee selfsacrificing for those he loves, and even for those he did not know. That is part of it too, I think.

Great story.

Wonderful tag - open-ended enough to fit within canon but still offering possible answers to niggling questions this awesome-yet-frustrating little show has a nasty habit of leaving unanswered too long - like why John wasn't picked, why Castiel couldn't heal Dean (I loved that it was Dean's choice not to be, um, fingered *g*), what Castiel said to Sam about the ease with which he dispatched Alistair, to name a few.

The boys in your hands are angsty but manly - definitely a favoured combination. And Dean was at his snarky best :) and poor, deluded Sam. He is so deep in denial he should bump into Cleopatra's ghost any moment now. (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Loved this. Thanks for the great read.

Cheers, Sculls

Liked this one too - Dean worrying about his alley cat morality while Castiel was in his head was hysterical. Love your description of Sam's enjoyment of his power.

so i totally thought i had reviewed this when you first sent me a message.

anyway, popped back for a re-read and read the review page and was like, where am i?

so, this is an awesome tag!

the idea of cas reading dean's head is freaky, but for some reason the idea of dean reading sam's head is what gave me the chills. and that last question, "are you going to kill my brother," and then Cas' answer... *shudders*

and i like how you talk about sam's size kind of in relation to the demon blood, like he feels as if he's getting bigger. the room too small. the world too small. that's how he acts sometimes, as if he's too big for his own skin, all tense. love it.

Hi, Z. I really liked this tag. I have only read one other one for this episode thus far, but I think you hit points others didn't think about in ways others didn't think of approaching. Nice job.

‘Can’t you just fly him there?’ ‘Like Superman?’ Wonderfully sarcastic of you and giving them all a bit of humanity in a pop culture world.

Really liked your description of the car ride with Cas and Dean in the backseat and how awkward that had to be for Sam. The red hot jealousy? Yeah, I get that. Felt that.

I loved how you had Sam slam on the breaks turn around and reach for his brother. That moment. That sudden trigger that he needed his brother, he needed to be the one to comfort. He needed to be the one to save. He needed so much right then and I think you did it well.

Then, a bit later, I dug the line about 'before the smiting starts.' Great, great line.

Adored the "You're not fingering me" line. Ha, ha. and the follow up of all the slams to Cas with "Fucking treehugger."

The whole head inside voiced banter of "Am I right?" "I don't know" and "Are you going to kill my brother?" "I don't know." Is actually scarier than anything the boys can fight. Dean fears it. Bobby fears it. Cas probably fears it. We all fear it. That bit was actually really scary.

I really like the end of this how you talk about how Sam needs it. He wants his brother to be okay. He wants to keep him safe. He LOVES him. But he needs his fix. He needs it. And just like an addict, he'll find a way to get it and take everyone down in the process.

You entertained me. Thanks for that.

Wow... I feel like I should have a lot to say but I suck and can't think of anything. I've always thought that Sam should be able to use his powers for good... I mean they really haven't given us a good reason as to why not. I keep waiting for one but I keep getting nothing. I liked the Cas in Dean's head thing that was different and Dean thinking about all the things that were anything but angelic... cute. I think the show left a hole with things since the angels didn't try to rescue John I'm glad you pointed that out it makes me feel better that I wasn't the only one to notice it. And could they Mary Sue John any more than they did? Well that is my own issue I suppose. Anyway... a great read as always. Thanks for sharing.
