I think more than anything, Hera could actually sympathize with the Girl. In the sense that they are both equally trapped in their decisions and made into bad guys by people too scared to villainize Zeus. His conning Hera into marriage could be another reason Hera relates to the Girl?(I'll admit that yes, I *do* have a particularly strong loathing of his attitude towards women.)

I personally like Hera? She's a screaming harpy whenever she's brought out in the myths and always seems like she's punishing the wrong person (ie, not Zeus?), but I think that's mostly because guys made up quite a few of the myths that survived. Women liked her as a whole since, as you said, she protected marriage.

I happen to like your and A/N's in general. Gives the author a chance to explain themselves. :)

Ah, I enjoyed getting to hear a goddess's side of the story. Hera in general seems difficult to write, but you pulled it off quite nicely. :D
