How love wins out... Severus was battling both Hermione's heart and his own: he should have known he could not win ^_^ That was a lovely scene.

Oh... That was beautiful. Thanks for the warning about it being SS/ HR That is not a ship i have explored much, or at all. i think jumping to D/Hr from cannon was wild enough for me ;)
You wrote it well... both struggling with real concerns, that i can totally see them having. the reader can clearly sense the angst and affection. these were my fave lines:
“I don’t want you to ever stop teaching me.”
“I am wise beyond my years.”
“I missed out on my youth.”
“Then we are the same age.”

I understand your reasons for being here at ff, mine would be very similar. also, honestly, i just needed a creative outlet or i would have exploded!
so where are you headed on the east coast and where are you moving from? I can understand the work involved, yikes! Also the separation anxiety. i dont know how much you like where you are currently... but i loved Seattle. hated my job, but loved the people in Seattle.
