I like this piece because it had language I don't often see in fanfics. That is, of course, a good thing.

weirdly unmushy, actually. i was surprised by the unmushiness. the way you described social constraints definitely set you apart from the crowd... it might have seemed broody if it was another pairing, but it was perfect for dasey. loved it.

Aw - I had to grin at the meta moment...Casey wondering why she felt compelled to act like that when there was NO audience watching :) I really like your read on the last scene -Casey's need to establish the boundaries, and her subsequent unhappiness when Derek sticks to those boundaries. I also liked all the small details - Lizzie being so observant, Casey not being able to tie her shoelaces, the dead goldfish in the sunhat :) And I liked the twins, and the idea of Derek as Casey's twin.

I love you for writing this. I saw that bit and I was all, there's the hint of Dasey right there, except what are you doing you Casey pod person and not accepting the invitation. Yeah, so I yelled a few expletives at my poor laptop. But I'm glad you wrote a follow-up to this because I for one wanted to see what would happen after that. It was an incredibly tame way to end on the part of the writers. And by the end I was glad you resolved it. And there's also a big part of me that wishes that this were the series finale. How fulfilling that would be no?
Anyhow great job. :)

Ok first off, where is Daphne I want her to take notes on this story ASAP! It wasn't to mushy at all, just the right amount of mush, and I always wondered what these two might have gone through after that whole incident in the kitchen. Now I must add this to my collection of possibilities for Dasey.

Again you've totally blown me away. Totally beautiful and original. Your one shots are totally awesome. Every sentence has a more complicated subplot hiding underneath, and you refer to things that aren't just in the show but are so universal that I actually felt as if I'd been there and felt that. Thus it feels like much more than a single short story. I'm so in love with your Casey and Derek and with your writing. Going to catch up on Delayed Satisfaction now, but I can tell you that here is one happy reader.
