Just a thought, but maybe an oversight.. didn't ash leave his pokedex on goodshows desk when he quit? How did his mother manage to track him using it?

It's almost unbearable how little knowledge the author has of this show. It's like they never watched it, since all the characters are out of character, except for a few instances. The horrendous moments seem to always be followed by a well-written section to keep you engaged for a few seconds, but right after that, it's back to the characters being annoying and hard to deal with. I can't with this inconsistency.

I really felt this chapter shows the complex dynamic between Misty and Ash.

It took me a while to read this story because I couldn't read pass the first chapters, but when I did - I was vlown away! When the Master was first mentioned, and he left a letter and gift for Ash, I thought "Could Ash be his son?" Most of the time, when authors include Red in their stories, this is the case. I'm sad about it because it means Red didn't end up with his own version of Misty again. But that's okay! Ash is with Misty in this story anyway!
Then Red went ahead and mentioned his "girls," and even before Ash began asking himself about it, my mind was already churning. I was beginning to get excited! What if his "girls" were the Cerulean Gym sisters? Then they began talking about their dad bringing them to places and spending his time with them. My mood went down again because if it's true that Red hid them for protection, he wouldn't spend his time with his family out in the open unless all of their memories of their dad was before they were hidden.
I love Ash and Misty's story! It's very beautiful. But if Red and Misty really did end up together in this universe, I would cry. All versions of Misty deserved a love returned. Thabk you for this story! Can't wait to read the next update!

I certainly appreciate you dedicating this chapter to me dude, that means a lot. As always you have a real knack for making these characters feel human. Of course, considering you've inserted a lot of your own personality into Ash - and I will take your word for it that your wife is basically Misty in real life, that makes a whole lot of sense.
I would go as far to say, if what you say is true, you and your family are a proof of concept that Pokeshipping would 100% work no matter what world you put them in. Some people would say in real life they wouldn't get along. Well, we can just point to you, hehe.
As for the chapter itself, it was quite nuanced. Both Ash and Misty had valid points, and the stress of what he's going through understandably is messing with his head. No sleep, NO FOOD? It's no wonder Ash needs an intervention, he's forgoing his third favorite love in this world.
I cannot wait to see how this all turns out. I am so eager to see how this battle goes (and hopefully learn from it at the same time?). Here's to hoping we get a chance to chat sometime soon my friend.
Write on, Texas Longhorn, write on.

Man, I gotta say this chapter has to be one of the best written in the entire story so far. I can feel the evolution of your writing. the intensity in some of the conversations, actions and descriptions comes across sublimely.
The way that they worked through the argument in this chapter was also a huge display of just how much both have grownand still have to growin their relationship together. how their arguments have changed to work things out rather than devolving as they used to. True character growth right there.

It's certainly good to see you back at it again my friend. Time flies doesn't it? Work slows us down and then there are other more important responsibilities...two kids now? How amazing it is to see old friends find happiness like that. Congratulations.
As for the chapter itself, it's on par with everything I remember reading from you back in the old days. Pacing is quick and to the point, and in spite of all my years of practicing writing battles, I still feel as if there's a certain touch you add to these matches that just makes it more enjoyable to read. I can't even put it into words per say.
I feel like it's about time I start getting myself back into the swing of things myself. After all, my tale has yet to come to a close too. But first, we must prep for Pokeshipping Week. It'll be here before we know it.
Hope to hear from you sometimes soon TL, it'd be nice to catch up if we can swing it. And now, before I bid you adieu, there's one last thing to be said, something that I haven't said in far too long.

Aaah, that was indeed a nice easter egg to be smacked with.
Loved the Spiritomb interraction with Ash, it was quite a different way of handling it, though I find myself curious about why he kept picking it up. I'm not really sure I understand the purpose behind it.

YES! YES!
I've been waiting for this chapter for what feels like ages!
I look forward to seeing how you conclude this!
BTW am I still allowed to get those books made of this fic for personal use once you're finished? wanted to check to make sure I don't accidentally overstep any boundaries.
hope to see more soon, AOP.
