I can't believe I didn't review this sooner o_O
So Saria was the character that I was HUNTING back before I even published anything, lol. To be honest, I've seen her as a potential love interest for Siegfried, though I don't know what she would actually say if she finds out what he's done. The sight of him in SCIV would be a shock already. Poor Saria.
The flashback was done very nicely. Can't say I've seen too much of Siegfried when he was young, and as a genuine human to boot. It seems that a lot of fics don't see him that way, he's either a stone or somewhat of a sinful figure. But Saria remains human, and Siegfried, by SCIV just becomes a guy with a task..and will forsake all others to do it. Sounds like a lot of the main characters which would make any other type of emotion forgotten, sadly. I'm glad you brought that out.
Oh...and you might have noticed I spell her name as Saria. It's a habit, sorry xD.
I've only noticed a little spelling error (venison), otherwise, it's clean and well written. Hope to read more from you! :)
*Ends rant*

I think I rather look forward to seeing Siegfried fic from you. =)
I do love this; the difference between the Siegfried of the present and the past is wonderfully stark: the boy he was and the man he becomes. And poor Sarya, who has been constant and seemingly unchanged between, finds whatever affection he held for her has been frozen solid.
My favourite: The setting sun shines on the myriad facets of his armor, a lonely fallen star approaching a sea of darkness.
Sarya turns away. It hurts her eyes to look at him, and she can't see him for the light.
Completely hits my wangst button, but I quite love the imagery as well. Very satisfying. =)

I thought I was the only one who thought of Siegfried having a close bond with Sarya, almost romantic... so reading this was quite the pleasure. I was rather amused at the awkward kiss scene, but at the same time, I suppose that's how bad first kisses would be, especially from a warrior! LOL! :P
Anyhow, this was well written, and the painful sadness of leaving her behind was beautiful... I am also impressed that another SC fan loves the tarot, and therefore, I am well looking forward to reading more of this. :)
