The idea and writing is good but this story is way too repetitive and drags on forever. Angela and Bones have the same conversation about 10 times, the time between Booths death and his return goes on way to long, Bones and Booth and the nightmares goes on forever, the mountain cabin, the serial killer stuff, and Bones' injury was all unnecessary to the story, and the hosptial stuff also lasted forever lol.

I cried my way through this entire story today, literally sobbing at parts. Boy do you know how to tear my heart apart with surgical precision. Wow. Just...ouch. The Pain in the Heart indeed.

We’re all trapped in a Shakespearean hell and there is no way to escape it. Free thought is an abject concept. We are all William Shakespeare.

Okay tbh I was kinda thinking you were pushing the OOC thing too far (but I was still so invested you’re writing this so well) but then I remembered 6x9 “The Doctor in the Photo” and how quickly Bones started acting EXACTLY like this over Booth just DATING another person and I actually think you did an amazing job at saying exactly what she left unsaid at the end of that episode. Very very well written and so very much more in character than I thought! So happy with finding this fic thank you so much for sharing this side of these characters with us!

i’ve been rewatching bones which has of course made me come back to fanfiction, so i’ve going through your stories and reading them all and i just had to leave a review on this one. it was so beautiful. i managed to go the entire length of the story without crying until i got to the epilogue. i still have tears rolling down my cheeks. i LOVED this entire thing. your writing is incredible and you write the characters’ voices so well. bones is such a hard character to get right but even in all of your stories, with all of the scenarios these characters go through, you still write her perfectly. well done. i don’t know if you’ll ever see this, but thank you so much for your work.
