I have no idea who Acker is. Should I?
This story is actually kind of difficult for me to read. Not like in a bad way, just in a you name HP stuff and I have no clue what you're talking about so I ignore it way. And then it sucks when those little details happen to be important to the plot.
(But, like seriously. Who is Acker? Just some random Potions master?)
Righty-o (Is that British? Maybe I'm lapsing like you!), the latest theory.
Luna.
(I know you've discounted it, but you also insist my Ginny/Neville theory is incorrect. Even though we all know that's how it really went down. So I'll give you another option, but you're just deluding yourself. Her mother's Ginny.)
Abby's a blondie, and as we know from Biology 30, being blonde is a recessive trait. Yes, yes, I know. Dudley has blonde hair. But unless he married someone else with blonde hair, the biggest chance of Abbs being fair-haired is 25%. And that's only if her mother is heterozygous.
Luna is blonde.
Blonde Luna + Blonde Dudders = Blonde Abbs
This is simple math.
Luna is very much intrigued with the Muggle world and it's legends. She would totally spend her life traipsing around and searching for Nessie or Ogopogo. And Dudley is a pansy, he would follow her.
But she had to leave him. The leprechauns were closing in; she couldn't subject her family to that.
She's still out there somewhere, living among the Atlantians, and she still loves Dudley, as he does her. So when Abby's letter came from Hogwarts it was no question for him. Her mother would have wanted her to go.

I like seeing a Dudley at Hogwarts, it just kind of works. But I do want to know who Abigals mom is, but take your time with that one, it well work more good if you do. Something is on the 7th floor?

Oh my good God, you actually put me in the story.
Well. That's some last name you've given me. Who are my parents? (Please remember HP is not my domain). Wasn't one of them a Slytherin?
I liked me best, obviously, but I also enjoyed the mention of SPEW and 'Transfigure Me.' That band name just makes me smile.
Most curious about Abby's mother, so I made up my own theory. Ready?
Ginny and Neville. Why? Because it's NEVILLE. (So was Harry. Need I say more?) But Harry had this little hissy fit when he found out that Abby was Neville's because like any offspring of Harry's could compete with Neville's. So he gave the girl to Dudley because 1) He hated her and hoped that Dudley would be a horrible father, and 2) He knew that Dudley would take her because he lost the ability to father children in a horiffic boxing accident. The seventh floor is really just a trap Harry set up to capture Abby so he can wipe her memory and hide her away in a Muggle orphanage.
