Wow...this is what I call a d*ck move. This is like telling people they have all day free admission to an amusement park, and after having so much fun for most of the day, suddenly they're stopped and told "Nope...you can't continue to enjoy the park until you pay me." What do you think those people are gonna do? You really think they're all gonna want to pay to play in your amusement park after you fooled them into believing it was free all day, then asking them to pay at the end of it? If I were these people who invested so much time in reading this story and reviewing it, I'd feel so used and led on. This is disrespectful to your loyal readers, really. I don't know any of your stories, and I've never read any of them...but if I were a follower of this story, I'd be very angry with you. Pulling something like this tells me that you have no respect for them, and that you used them and their positive reviews and saw dollar signs, and that's all you care about. That's how I'd feel if I were them. The least you could have done was posted what few chapters of this you had left, and allowing your loyal followers to finish the story, then pulling it after a period of time to publish...that would have earned you a lot of respect from those who have already read it, and maybe gained you some more support. They would've recommended the story to other people if they liked it, and you probably would earn more money on the published fic than you would after doing something like this. If I were them, I'd leave and never look back...no money earned for you. If you wish to become a paid writer, you have to at least know enough to respect your readers, and those who positively choose to follow you. Anyway, best of luck to you in your future endeavors, and I hope there's a lesson to be learned here by you.
