Hmm, I think that the prota is a bit too Emo
I mean, sure he had a rough childhood, but he forgets that he isn't special because of this.
There are many children who share a similar history. Even the Dark Lord!
Also, what I don't understand is why he has to isolate himself because of his past, acting like a compulsive lone wolf. He only admits this way that guys like Louis won over him, and that they managed to break his spirit/manipulate his actions.
The prota should calm down a bit.
Idk, my experience is that nobody truly wants to be alone. The prota wants to be the best, right? Stuff like that, such a motivation, usually comes from the desire to prove yourself, and hidden behind such a desire is the longing for company.

Hi,
I really adore "death of today". Everything is perfect, your writing style, the storyline, the way you developed the characters... I could go on forever. I also think the ending was perfect and really do like that Izar got his victory over Voldemort.
It is definitely one of the best fanfics I've ever read and I really look forward to you maybe continuing Dreams&Darkness collideI hope you refind your muse, it would be a shame for all of us if we couldn't read new work of such a brilliant author.
I hope you have a great week

a fingerless glove and a tattoo don't define Izar, but that doesn't change the power those objects give Voldemort over him. A master can tell his slave to not let his chains define him but at the end of the day, he's the one that put the chains there to begin with. It's rather cruel, like a man breaking another's back and then telling him he shouldn't be upset about never getting to walk again. and being encouraged by the slave owner or the creator of your problems is incredibly manipulative and nasty. But that's Voldemort for you.
I've still got more to read but this just stuck out to me as a particularly sinister exchange and I wonder if Izar will ever realize it.

I am rereading this for like tenth time or so, and I am thinking to myself "Huh, why this seems so different". Then I go to the next chapter and there is "EDITED October 2020" and I screeaam. Thank you so much for such a pleasant surprise! 33
