I'm glad I decided to read this one shot on a whim, both very glad and very sad to have done so. What a story, you did a wonderful job conveying Snape's character. The ending was heart wrenching, and the most bittersweet. I think I'm going to lay down now.

I'm sure the embrace gave him the strength to live and it gave her time to save him.
And he began a new life!
Yes, it did.
In the next frame, he wakes up in Mungo and sees that she has fallen asleep hugging him.
In the next frame, he returns her memory to her parents as a better mentalist. Severus then thanks Hermione's mother that her instruction for her daughter saved his sanity and ultimately his life.
In the next frame, Hermione and Severus marry
