This story was definitely one of your better efforts. As i was rereading it became apparent that I should make a short comment. I agree with your closing note and add for the benefit of the ff readers, it is not the place for minute by minute, day by day accounting of every thought and action of the stories main characters (exaggeration, i know). Many writers on ff need to evaluate what they and others consider important. if they can't say it in less than 500k words, maybe, just maybe, the extra verbiage didn't add to the quality of the work or the value to the reader's time they were after. Thanks for the story and your time to read my AFFERMING rant.

Now that a third of this story (by total chapter numbers) is behind me I would like to make a couple of comments. I believe your "egotistical" evaluation of Dumbledore misses its mark. INCOMPITENT was the description of JKR's version of Dumbledore I would use. Since I joined my four children in following the series as it came out, I have had serious concerns about the administration of any sort of institution in charge of the life and education of children. As I continue to follow JKR's public character, I view her research skills as extremely skewed in certain directions (mainly supernatural), and lacking any practical operational depth. Snape would NEVER be trusted with caring for a bunch of rabbits, much less a group of extremely special and valued children. She left what I consider errors in judgment laying around like time bombs for fanfiction writers to have a ball with. Personally, I'm glad there are MANY proven and acceptable theories of educating children and youth that would make such Hogwart's type administration a clear and unacceptable folly. Come on, JKR, he's been running the school for how long?
