It's amazing how often enemies don't think of you simply killing them. Especially when they have no way to stop you from simply blowing their brains out right then and there.

This R'vek guy is a problem and danger to his own people and his allies. He's very lucky he wasn't punished, quite severely, for the damage he caused and his attack. If anyone had been harmed, the UNSC likely would have demanded his head and quite happily killed any Elites that got in the way of taking it for themselves.
Yeeeah...he can't suspend someone. Especially not for simply having an opinion that said someone did not make any attempt to act on. Especially especially when that opinion is objectively true and would probably get the dumbass bothering him about it killed by "accident" for punishing the other guy for voicing. Even aside from not remotely having the authority. It's more likely he'd be considered insane or a potential traitor or just criminally stupid for thinking the Sangheili are remotely innocent. Especially especially especially since their whole species, literally, participated (quite gleefully) in trying to exterminate humanity. And they didn't stop due to finding out they were lied to. They stopped because they became the Covenant's target, too. A big distinction that no doubt would be very strong in peoples' minds.

M'galekgolo cannot be taken over by the Flood, since they have no central nervous system. They are one of the few species that are completely immune to the Flood's mind control. This is, however, not well known... but still, thought I'd let you know, since it's non-canon.

What with their, having gotten to the point of colonizing the asteroids in their system while humans where trying to figure out gunpowder without even a single forerunner artifact on Eyan, their, light build making for the ultimate runners climbers and hit dodgers, they are weak, not worth the plasma bolts to shoot at them."

Like the story, however, hunters cannot be infected. Ever. Due to their gestalt colonial status per 'individual' and the fact that each individual Hunter worm is smaller than an infection form, trying to infect a hunter is impossible.
