for A Love Story Reversed

An absolutely wonderful story. I have to presume this would be late Victorian around !890's when meeting in someone's house was permissable for a young woman among her friends. Of course this was with the purpose of the marriageable young people to become acquainted. Today it is bars and internet matching services, and this is considered quaint.

The pottery discusion brings to mind Jack's efforts in pottery making in "Window of Opportunity".

I liked the cadence of the story. The reader became invested in Sam and Jack, and how they had to proceed given the social customs of the time. The amount of time they spent together had to end with an engagement. In the minds of their social set how could they spend all this time together and have it end any other way?

Felt bad for Sam, when she expected Jack to tell her that they could no longer meet, only to have him propose to her.

I thought that he wasn't going to tell her he loved her..I was about to kick Jack O'Neill's ass! Was it me, or did this 'sam' remind you a little of the 'nerd' sam?

A little shy, a little unsure of herself until she was brought to life by Jack's total acceptance of her, in every aspect of her being? From her intelligence to her kindness and fascination with everything about her..and Kerry..eww.

I loved it when Jack gave HER the boot..ha! A feel good moment if ever there was one.

This was more poetry than prose. What a wonderfully refreshing take on jack and sam.

Your description of setting and character is mesmerizing, young lady!

Excellent read!

Nice story, although I found it a bit difficult to read due to the shifting between present time and past time. I also think the language itself left something to be desired. It felt a little.. unnatural, especially the dialogue. I don't mean to offend, and I hope you don't take it as such. I think the idea is good - a S/J romance set in another time and meeting under different circumstances.

Evanne.Bo, if you like Jane Austen I'd recommend the Bronte sisters, the authors of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. Both stories are a bit darker than Austen's work, but they're two of my favorites. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is another great book, although it takes place in America during the Civil War if memory serves.

I absolutely love it! I am a big fan of historical romances. I like seeing our favorite characters put into a completely new setting. I think it was very well written.
