I have read this story so many times and only after sharing it again did I realize I have never reviewed! Horrendous of me. Whenever I tell fellow austenites about a modern Persuasion, I always bring up your story. It's the way the societal expectations are made believable for modern age. Wentworth being an actor, Anne a classically trained pianist and the struggles- chef's kiss.

Wow. Wow. Wow.
I realize this is an older story, but this is how a modern Persuasion should be. This needs to be published.
Of all the fan fiction I've read (and I read a TON), this blows the rest out of the water.
This. Should. Be. Published!

Loved every bit of this story. I think when I go back and read Persuasian, it will be richer because of reading your story!

It is a great story. Thank you for sharing. I loved all of it, really. You have managed to keep all feelings, conflicts and characters true to original while moving it to present time. Great work.

Your writing is wonderful. It flows. “Minds were already far away, daydreaming about weekend plans, and the bodies soon followed.” There’s movement to your writing. Such a great first chapter. Thanks for sharing.

Hey
I'm aware that it has been some time since you finished this story, but I only read it now and need to express how amazingly awesomely well done this is!
It was such a genius idea to make all of these characters to be artists and the reason for Anne breaking up with Derick is so plausible. Same goes for all the other things that happen to them.
This truely is one of the best fanfiction I've ever read!
Thanks so very much!

Wow wow wow…. you clearly have such a love and respect for the source material; it was so impressive how you managed to make many of the tricky social dynamics work in a modern setting (the Elliots not accepting Wentworth as a suitor, etc.) And even so many side catchers like Benwick, Mary, and Louisa! If a certain recent movie starring a certain Miss Johnson had used this as a script it would have better captured the spirit of Austen’s story. Really well done, thank you so much!

I loved this story! I’m always wary of modern AUs, but seeing as it was Persuasion... you translated the story so well! Thanks for sharing, I especially enjoyed Anne’s piano playing and Mary was so funny! You also wrote the confession scene wonderfully which was such an inventive twist on the original

AWWW. This is so perfect.
the way he overheard her conversation with Walter on the movie set and his passion in the acting scene and her teasing him about the "you pierce my soul" comment. perfection.
And the way you have it end with him supporting her at one of her movies. GAH.
So lovely. This is honestly one of the best modern-day Persuasion AUs I have read. Thank you for sharing.

AWWW. You capture the tone of the fic so beautifully, truly. I keep saying that but it's so wonderful how deftly you put them in this modern-day scenario that still rings so true to the spirit of the original text.
Just the way that Anne intuitively understands what Derick is feeling and just her social intelligence reading the situation completely correctly and her thinking how she had fallen in love with someone so stupid but that she loved him anyway.

OMG. What a chapter. The way you capture Anne's feelings at their abrupt reunion was so true to the tone of the book. How she tries to rationalize her feelings as silly even though she knows he was acting like the man who loved her and he was totally giving her subtext.
She is the definition of her own "half agony, half hope" right now. AWWW.
But that interview tho! Plenty of subtext to read into that one. ;)
