at the two thirds mark, the story is coming into it's third act hopefully. and it's looking rather grim for harry and his friends. very very grim.

if i were harry, i'd have found it strange that there was no evidence of *anything*, like the supposed cheating which occurred during the fight. if the testimony were true, there would have been some evidence of this *somewhere* and it would have been the first lead. right?

these are the kinds of chapters which i enjoy the most in this story. i wish we had seen more of rianne's perspective throughout the self-actualization chapters (i know she didn't do anything particularly interesting, i just wish that she *had* done something interesting for us to see)
i love the way that the author foreshadows *everything* and has it all resolve eventually. it feels like i am being rewarded for caring about the story enough to remember things, which does not happen often with fan fiction, much less regular books.
amazing.

i'm happy that our team is finally coming together. this is definitely a filler review so that i can get to the next chapter.

i wish harry had asked quirrell if he really had been intervening this entire time. i wonder if he would have figured out what really happened each time?

A proposed solution: Harry reveals the secrets of partial transfiguration in parseltoungue, while begging for mercy for the Silver Slytherins. He says he'll allow their enslavement, but not murder, surely nothing they could have done to deserve that. The dark lord demands a single name to be spared. Harry picks Draco Malfoy to spare. Harry Potter then explains his knowledge of the conservation of matter and potions. Susan Bones is spared. Harry Potter explains the way to forever extend Avada Kedavra (indifference). Millicent Bulstrode (and her time turner) are spared. Harry Potter explains how to create his patronus. The dark lord hears truth, but does not comprehend. When Harry fails to explain it better, he begins to torture him. However, for a boy who's solution to hate is indifference, Crucio isn't very effective. Harry can reason out that if pain is intangible and this spell leaves no mark of physical damage, then it must only create an illusion of pain (and with more reasoning, the spell loses it's power). In his rage, the dark lord makes a critical error. He uses the eternal fire to torture Harry, forgetting for an instant that when emotions run away, so can magic. While everyone may think Harry is at a Quidditch game, they can hardly fail to notice a flaming castle. And when the body of Harry Potter is discovered in the wreckage 2 hours later, with the dark lord and his death eaters disapparated the professors will be distraught. This isn't a perfect solution, it may even count as calling in the cavalry (which does break the rules). It is true that going back in time to reverse one friend's death often results in another. But Draco and Millicent weren't privy to that conversation between Harry and Dumbledore and it's only been 5 hours since Harry's untimely demise. Besides, neither Millicent nor Susan have much plot value left. Their best use, like so many other students is to be sacrificed for greater good, even if that means dying in place of another.

i've redacted the comment i had written earlier due to it's risk of coming across as misogynistic in the way that people on the internet in 2024 are misogynistic.
