I commented on this AGES ago on livejournal, but here I am in the year of our lord 2022 commenting again. This is one of my favorite pieces of fiction. I love Greg so much, I love the way you wrote his inner monologue, I love the way he and Pavel talk to each other. I love the way I've read this story probably about 4 or 5 times and it still makes me cry when Pavel overhears Greg talking about wishing he was smarter. What an achingly beautiful story you've crafted. Thank you!

OMG ... I have reread this story more times than I should say... but I love this and I hope that if/when I’m in this situation, my better half remembers to treat me this way

Hell. It was amazing.
I mean first i was: cupcake and pavel? Never thought about It, but well, let's give It a shot.
And now i am: god dammit they make so much sense, you completely spoilt me for pavel other parings.
And just let's talk about greg for a minute. I mean: the dude have a grand total of what, three? Five ? Ten? Minutes in the whole movie, where he is basicaly not really an ass (because, yes kirk, when a woman say no it's no) but, yeah, more like in the "oh this big guy who look kind of dumb and violent" vibe.
Then you come and with this character whole three minutes make a freaking person, who still fit in the "kinda dumb and dangerous" vibe, but who is so much more. And that is what i love so much about your story, you didn't try to make cupcake someone différent, you didn't try to erase these first three minutes impression with some "it's a huge misunderstanding in fact i'm a freaking teddy-bear" bullshit. Nope. You take all of it and give greg a whole history which completely fit with the movie. When i watch it and read your story i am "yeah, that's the same character".
So. I'll stop my rambling and just say this: i didn't think that i could love a " three minutes violent dude" . But your story make me.
Well, that's it. Your greg was amazing, your writing was amazing, and you poured so much feelings in this fiction that it's not completely healthy for my poor heart.

I love this whole story completely, but Chapter Eleven is just miraculous, possibly because it's Greg, who thinks of himself as dumb, yet is so very smart especially when it comes to how he feels about Pavel and the deep love and adoration he has for his 'obsessive little Russian'.
It's rare you get romance writing of this calibre, and it should be compulsory reading for anyone who thinks they can write about love.

I have read and reread this story compulsively, and I STILL get something new from it each time. Your characters, especially Greg and Pavel, are so complimentary and the sweetness without being saccharine makes me lost for words.
I hope you get around to posting it in a downloadable format so that if FF disappears, this and your other wonderful stories will be read for years to come.

Omg - I didn't think anything could top your Chekov/Bones story, but this is just beautiful. Cupcake is a whole new character, and a fascinating one.
What I love the most about your portrayal of the characters is how multidimensional you make them. As a great read as well as a strong writing exemplar, it doesn't come much better than this.

I'm not afraid to admit I cried like a baby several times while binge reading. This story I so good I barely even noticed when I clicked on the next chapter and the one after that. Its so consuming.
