Oh MAN.
THis rang SO TRUE. And... Oh I can't even your history is so plausible and your Fishlegs so tormented and your Hiccup so magnanimous. Thank you for all of it. It's a perfect, perfect character study and storyline. I love it.

This is so great! You write so well and this story really offers insight into Fishlegs's character.
Keep writing!

I think thins is a cute idea with a touch of reality about the pressure of life and getting in with the "right" crowd.

I liked it very much. Yes, Fishlegs IS the other weak Viking, but I till see greatness in him. Good job.

This was a very interesting perspective on the events before, during, and after the movie. When I read the ending, I couldn't help thinking that there was still a chance for the boys to patch things up, you know? Anyway, great job. I loved it!

Nice short story and very bittersweet. I had often wondered why Fishlegs and Hiccup were not closer friends. You answered that. It makes me raalize how alone and misunderstood poor Hiccup really was. In the movie they show Fishlegs as not insulting Hiccup but also not supporting him, either, and your story lends some insights into that.
It's really touching how forgiving Hiccup is and that the little, odd, strange Viking geek everyone once hated but who is now a hero is not a vindictive guy. He has a big heart and encourages Fishlegs and gives him a chance to show his skills.
Nice story.

This absolutely broke my heart up until the redeeming ending. Poor guy was only cool in comparison to that Hiccup loser. Great celebration of friendship and gorgeous writing and congrats for taking on his incredible thoughts and feelings.

Adorable (and I mean that in the most non-cutesy way possible.) It's so refreshing to see a good friendship fic, considering these two are best friends in the books where Fishlegs IS the shrimpy little one. The poor guy is barely avoiding being an outcast in the movie, and this is such a great insight into how he might possibly feel over that. The memories were great for bringing in examples of their friendship. I liked the slow, thoughtful style to this that led into that more concrete scene at the end. Very well done and very sweet.

Personally, I think that Dreamworks should have some semblence of a friendship between these two in accordance to the book series, although, I do suppose that such an attachment would make Hiccup's predicament in the tribe less hopeless.
Kudos.
