Wondering... If Edward is older than cannon Edward. It feels that way. I love that his compassionate nature is still intact even though he is Volturi. Can't wait to see where Bella fits in all this. I'm definitely on board!

Edward-is he a good guy, trapped in a bad guy's world? We learn he hasn't eaten for weeks? Why? Does he detest what he is? We also know he's with the Volturi, but I wonder if he's willing to be there...of if he has to be there.

You have been such a busy bee lately, not that I'm complaining. I'm intrigued by this story. It certainly is dark and our Edward is naturally feeling apart from everyone else.

Dark :-) I'm excited about this, maybe also a little excited bc I knew he was saying Last Rites? I'm weird like that. Very interesting introduction to the story.

Wow, that was vivid! Chillingly vivid! You excel at descriptive writing; it flows so nicely and doesn't feel over done.
Was this supposed to pierce my heart, cause it did: "I'm sorry. You will not suffer. You will feel no pain. Go to your God."

You betcha. Your descriptors are alarmingly vivid. I loved the authenticity of the use of both Italian and Latin. I can feel Edward's ennui and there also a sense of waiting just under the surface. Super stuff, K.
