I know its lame to review my own story, but I just have to say that after this weeks episode I feel like I should get some sort of...prize or something! Did I nail it or what? My fanfic totally had everything about that whole kurt/Finn situation down way before the episode aired. That should tell you something.

I don't agree with this. At all. And it's kinda... not realistically or well written. sorry.

FINALLY someone said it!
I wish people would respect Finn for who he is just as much as they respect Kurt. There was blame on both sides and only admission of guilt by one of them.
Thanks for writing this, you'll probably take a lot of flack from Kurt fans, but I like both characters and you have got it exactly right here.

I didn't like this fic at all. It was a bit too unfair against Kurt.
I understand that he shouldn't have played the victim in the Gaga episode and he should have taken some responsibility. But after Finn using that hateful word, I can understand why Kurt was too humiliated to say sorry.
And I also think that Kurt realised he was wrong during "The Scene" but after hearing his Dad's speach he he knew that nothing excuses hate slurs, no matter how innappropriate he was being. And also, I think you're exagerating Kurt's actions, he wasn't trying to "get into Finn's pants" at all, he just wanted to spend more time with Finn.

Its exceedingly difficult for someone to accept the fact that they are unloved by the person they ardently chase after. Whether you're straight, gay, or bisexual, unrequited love sucks.
That being said, I don't believe that Kurt's actions were selfish at all. I think they were foolish and hopeful. I don't think he was really able to accept the fact that Finn didn't return his feelings until the whole Finn/Burt blowup. And the realization that Finn didn't love him combined with his father's heroics forced him to realize this. I also think that Finn realized his actions and words were wrong, thus he stuck up for Kurt by dressing in a GaGa getup. If you watch the rest of the series after that episode, Kurt gives up pursuing Finn because he knows it will never happen.
Finn says something along the lines of "letting go of anger and hate." I disagree, again. I don't think Kurt was angry or hated Finn at all. I think he was hurting and desperate for some attention. He is a performer after all, and all performers thrive off of attention.
A lot of people who come to terms with their sexuality (as far as being gay is concernd, anyway) get into a "woe is me" attitude. Many teenagers experiece this becaue they feel like life would be easier for them to be straigt. They feel like being gay is somehow wrong. Kurt would feel this a lot, especially with everything that is happening with his father at this point in the series. He's been spending a large amount of time with Finn, who is straight, and spending less time with Kurt. And although two episodes prior, Kurt expresses this hurt to his fater, life most likely wouldn't just go back to normal in a few days.
These are just some things to consider.

wow. INTENSE. O.O I think i like it. It's hard for me, because I love Kurt so much more than Finn as a character; i can't help it, but yeah I suppose he did push Finn a little too far. Interesting take on Finn's feelings though. Bravo for unique-ness.

Okay, I admit Finn was kinda mean in this one, but he did make some pretty good points. Kurt can be selfish sometimes...and he really is a lot like Rachel. You did write this very well, though =).

Sorry, but I don't agree with you or your story. It was Finn's fault what happened in that episode, not Kurt's.

Hmmm... I'm not sure I agree with you, but the story is well written. I think Kurt realizes that Finn will never love him; if I remember correctly he said something along those lines sometime before the "break" the show went on. He also was crying when he answered "I know" when Finn was ranting... I dunno... I also think that Finn did do it for Kurt; he said so and he wore a dress. I feel like both of them could have handled things differently, but I think that they're both growing up and learning. They're by no means perfect...
Your writing is top-notch though! The ending was very "writerly" ... :D

Well, to start with, yes, Kurt should've said something to his dad about Finn moving into the same room or Finn should've said something; that is just asking for trouble. But, really, as said before me, you can't just get rid of strong feelings for someone with a snap of your fingers. Kurt loved Finn. I'm fairly certain he was accepting that, he certainly does now at least, but acceptance and getting past something are two entirely different things. Kurt's dad shows us this when he explains to Kurt how he is still trying to wrap his mind around Kurt being gay; Kurt has to still wrap his mind around Finn never loving him back.
So, I really don't like the story, because, really, I do think they both needed that blowup to happen. And I love Burt all the more for doing it. :)

Thank you!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees Kurt's behavior, and lack of responsibility for that behavior as frightening.
Frankly the whole great speech, had large swaths of victim blaming, since Finn has been dragged in and pushed into a corner due to what Kurt has done.
I hope Finn's mother loves him half as much as Kurt's father, because she needs to clear the air with those two.
Plus I found daddy's speech very hypocritical, considering earlier in the season he voiced his own difficulties in accepting Kurt being gay. So no the poison is already in the house, daddy just doesn't believe his 'innocent, gay son' can be so manipulative as to use two people to try to get in another guy's pants.
Though I doubt it'll ever come out.

Mmmh... I don't really know what to think about your fic :/ Maybe Finn is a little bit to blunt *think think*
But maybe is also because I don't see things as "bad" as you did. I mean, it was pretty clear for me that Kurt was hurt during Burt's speech because he knows Finn is a good person. And during this scene, I just think about Finn and Kurt as brothers who went to an argument where they don't realise the power of words. Burt act like dad towards Kurt but also toward Finn. I think Finn will feel more better after this speech because he will realise that he souldn't be feel insulted if people say he's gay. Because he knows who he is and that's enough :).
I love Finn, and I love how the show making him grow up (with the babygate, with those kind of scene).
To go back to Kurt, I think too he feel really bad about the sacrifice of his father.
And I think too, he honestly don't get Finn's mind. He's not into the "dude's" thing, if he were less" fashionista" I think he will more understand Finn's feeling. It's just his caracter. I mean, remember, he didn't realise Mercedes fell for him ;).
I' agree with you that Finn did the "red dress" for himself, and not for Kurt. Because when he did it, he show to everybody that he accept himself as Finn, and not what peaople want him to be. He really impress me in these scene because he grew up, and I love "growning Finn" :)
SI think Kurt is dealing slowly with his feelings for Finn, it will just take time. He accepted that Finn will never love him, but to accept that the person you love doesn't love you won't make feelings disappear like that. He's just Kurt, and Finn is Finn.
And for the Rachel thing... I'm not agree either. Everyone is bitchy towards Rachel and now she doeesn't act like she was the most important person in the world (with nuances, I really love her too ;)) the others seems to start befriends with her.
So in the end, I don't really understand why people lash out so much avout Finn or Kurt. This scene was wonderfully done, both of them needed it to grow up.
And I'm pretty sure now Finn accept himself, things will be a lot easier between them.
In fact this episode reminded me a lot about the "power of madonna" episode. In the song all the boys sung, they said something like "but the boys don't want to be think as a woman because they think being a woman is degrating". I think Finn remember this part too. He realise that it's not degrating. He knows is not gay, he knows he love girl. Why do will he care if other people are too stupid to think that because he's hanging around with a gay guy, he will be "contaminated".
Ok... That was my point of vue about this episode and I'm sorry if I wrote that long ^^".
I just want to say that I love at the same level ALL the caracters in glee. I love how they are complex, how realistic are ALL their reactions. How the show shows so well hat teenagers are not adult yet and need adults to guide them so they can be wonerful peoples in the future.
