I was intrigued by your summary and specially by your very first AN when you said "this is a story about things that happen in real life and about couple trying to find each other back", or something along these lines. I have to say i'm disappointed. The whole Carlisle/Edward and Esme/Bella similarities was just too fucked up. Same MO, same things, pretty similar moments, same excuses. And don't even get me going on the Riley plot. I mean, seriously, that's not real life, that's not about a couple struggling to conquer adversities, it is just pure, out-of-proportion fanfic. And that's not wrong or whatever. You just got my expectations going for a whole different way.
About the story, i do love a HEA ending. It felt a bit forced, in my opinion. Not because of the cheating (and even if ed only actually had sex with her 2 times, he STILL carried on for 3 months THINKING they were going at it and knowing about bjs, so yeah, that's a very long-term affair to me), but because Edward was a destructive, emotional abusing asshole. Specially trough their divorce. That was insane. And Bella was a self-centered, self-effacing bitch. For me, NOTHING justifies cheating. But i do believe in second chances. I just think that things got blown out of proportion. That Edward pretty much suffered from a personality transplant afterwards. when he got sober and got to therapy. And that felt unreal. I get that life-altering moments change us unequivocally and that sometimes we lose sight of who we are and who we wanna be while trying to make do in this crazy world. But i just don't think it is that drastic and without fail - you'd have some setback (not with drinking, necessarily, but with being a better person). he just goes from being a shitty person to an amazing guy and father. just like switching a flick.
That being said, i really admire how Edward overcame it all. He was a wonderful father both to Char and Matt. And it was inspiring reading about him mending his relationship with his family and working on what he loved and wanted. These last snippets of his life with Bella and their children were beautiful and i admire the bond he has with his oldest kid. Bella also grew up a lot. Her first time on her mom's grave was just too heartbreaking and a beautiful, strong moment. I think she was also a great mom, albeit too naive and dependent throughout her first pregnancy.

I’m not really sure I want things to get better between these two anymore. He’s constantly harassing her, causing her stress and messing up his life spectacularly. He’s just an abusive alcoholic adulterer. Grow up already!

I can't believe I've never read this story. It's mentioned often in groups. So they were all right, this was an amazing story. I wanted to slap, punch, kiss and hug both of them all through this fic. Thank you for writing a beautiful story.
