This story is a little difficult for me to read because I am a Spuffy fan and I believe she did love him. Not more than Angel. Just in a different way. With Spike and Buffy there was evolution between them. They were together long enough to grow as individuals and friends. I'll never take away from the Bangel fans, that yes Buffy did love Angel. I just feel like over time she grew out of love with him because he wasn't there. I don't doubt she will always love him just not like she did before. Buffy relied on Angel for many things. He was her anchor and she floundered without him. But she became independent and stood up on her own. And I feel like that's where Spike came in. He always worked along side her, as an equal. After she died she felt nothing and he made her feel again. He filled that gap and I believe she was in love with him. I think she just never wanted to admit it to anyone let alone herself because it was "wrong" in so many ways. He's Angel's grand-childe, they had a generally destructive relationship, and he tried to rape her. But after reading your story I can see your side completely and had I been an undecided Buffy fan I would believe that Angel was the man for her. You made me question for a second if I still stood by Spuffy so you did an awesome job on this story.
