This broke my heart! Just the idea of living with the object of your love for so many decades and nothing ever coming of it. And worse, having to watch and listen to him love someone else. Those little bits in time where he feels just that touch of love back (or not love I guess) makes it even worse. It's like look but don't touch. That kiss at the end was awful. Like just one more nail in the coffin. This is so powerful and it makes me want to cry. I love it and I can't believe you've never done slash before. Just wow.

I feel so desperately for Edward and wonder at his ability to just STAY for so long. His poor heart. Truly.
I carry no blame for Jasper...he's kind of secondary, here, isn't he? An object, not a subject. Not to me, anyway.

Wow, what a powerful and moving story. I can really feel Edward's pain (and Jasper's), beautifully written and haunting. I feel quite sad now but I think the ending you have written is realistic and correct in the context of the story. I do wonder whether Alice would have foreseen Edward's intentions and whether she would want to stop him or would she let him go to Volterra safe in the knowledge that she'd have Jasper all to herself? I'd like to think that she'd stop him. I am going to have a look at your profile and see what else you have written.

You have got to be one of the most prolific writers around at the moment! As usual well written, slash is not usually my thing, but am finding it curiously sexy lately. Not sure why, LOL. But I view this as less focused on slash than forbidden and unrequited love. It made me very, very sad. I knew he was gonna pull an Edward and go to Volterra. Where is Ms. Kathy when you need a threesome?
