As much as I loved the other story, I have to admit that you started this one much better. It's a little slower, it eases into the situation, and it gives the background story so we can see where Jimmy's coming from and gives a little more reason into his cutting.
I know how hard the decision is to rewrite a story and I'm glad you're following through on your word; you're starting over what's already been started and making it better. That's not easy to do :]
