Fawkes pranked the pranksters! A messed up and fun chapter all at the same time.
Dumbledore will be much more upset when he discovers that the Potter cash-cow will no longer be delivering riches into his own greedy little hands.
I think that Hermione would thrive at Beauxbatons.

I honestly don't think Draco would be like this. He is all bark but no bite. He would be too much of a coward to actually do anything. He would be angry and call Harry names, but I don't think he would cast curses. It's the whole reason he has the "wait until my father hears about this" spiel. He needs others with more power to back him up

er, this chapter seems to be missing... just a line drawing of a cactus.

Of course. Who else? ;D

How did you ever get Google Translate to give you "cochon" for "pig"? The only word for "pig" I can get out of that program is "porcin." ("Cochon" is one of the few French words I know, thanks to my French-born great-aunt, who said it every time one of us unavoidably burped when she was in earshot. ;D)

JKR's depiction of ALL the characters was a bit shallow, but then, she was writing for kids, and most of them wouldn't understand the complexities, anyway. I've read many A/Ns that state each person thought the books were just fine when they read them as kids, and it was only as they grew older that they recognized the flaws and plot-holes in the stories. (Personally, I STILL want to know how they got the restorative potion into Nearly Headless Nick when a ghost can't interact with anything material!)

Don't worry about the reader who criticized your over-use of exclamation points. You use them primarily when you're writing from Harry's POV. He's a teenager, and at that age, EVERYTHING rates an exclamation point. Personally, I think your use of them in his case is perfect, making it much more true-to-life.

Where is Sirius in all this? If my memory is not mistaken, isn’t he currently holed up in a cave near Hogsmeade, just in case Harry needs help?

I'm surprised that you didn't bring up Sirius yet, concerning custody. If I was Harry, Sirius would be at the top of my list of concerns when the subject of guardianship is brought up.

Normally I don’t read harry and flour pairing due to their age different and different personalities but I am open to new things I change my opinion frequently and I love good worded books . With a nice flowing story which this book provides .

Who is the author of grass is always greener? There are several stories by that title on FFN.
