Okay really sorry it's taken me this long to finish reading this. I did start the week you posted but got busy and only just had the time to sit down now.
Right, so after that explanation I should get on with the review!
I kinda got a little confused at the beginning. I see this fic is sort of tethering on the LagunaxQuistis side now and as a diehard Squinoa fan I really wish we could see more of them. Rather disappointed that we didn't but I understood the purpose of this chapter.
Poor Laguna any how. I feel for the poor man. No clue what is going down when they reach Balamb, but with Seifer in two, I doubt it'll be anything good.

Oh, wow, Costa Rica. You've told me before, but every time I hear about you moving to there it just sounds so awesome and great! Congratulations!
And I'll be waiting for more of this and your other story! They just rock!
This chapter in itself was a kickass one (even though Seifer's such a jerk in it).
I can't wait for more Laguna/Quistis (by the way, have I told you that I'll be writing a story with the pairing myself? and you're the one who inspired me to do so - they're just awesome together). :P

Our roles have reversed. I was interrupted from this so many times, and at long lengths of time too. I'm talking about cleaning, appointments, cooking. I'm so exhausted!
Ah, well I'm finally able to review.
As always, I really loved this chapter, though it did feel very different. The entire ambience has changed, not to mention the characters themselves. It's almost as if Squall and Rinoa have swapped attitudes. Squall seems a lot more positive (bless him) and Rinoa just seems very fatalistic. Saddens me to see (well read) what she's going through, and I'm glad they patched things up in the end.
Caraway's role in all this was good too. I like how he made that similarity with Squall. I did notice that Rinoa picked someone who, in a way, follows in her father's footsteps. Often I did think it was ironic how Rinoa and Squall's fathers are polar opposites, yet very similar to their child's spouse.
The side characters were also a pleasure to read. I'm amazed how you give each character a story of their own. Often it feels like I'm reading a separate story altogether. I really like how you've layered this just like the game. :)
Lastly, Q and Laguna? Why does Cid think there's something still going on? Has he been in contact with Laguna?

I used to be irritated by Rinoa and hate Squall (courtesy to me being an ex-seiftis fan - no need to mention that he was always the ass in every story there) but now I actually like Rinoa really much and I tolerate Squall, like him a bit even.
I'm looking forward to your next update. :)

I honestly began reading this story because in the annotation ou said that this couple would be there. I love Final Fantasy fanfiction ( I myself have written a Basch/Ashe one) and I really really want to see how this will turn out.

Oh my. This was not what I was expecting.
Firstly, let me applaud you. This chapter started out so calm and serene, I think the landscape you described with it's tranquillity (so beautiful) was what really set the scene. Then to go from that atmosphere to a complete downhill was just completely unexpected. I really like how the tension just escalated. Awesome.
That Seifer is a nasty piece of work. You'd think he learnt his lesson after he was defeated the fourth time round.
Poor Rinny. We are evil writers for putting her through so much, but I guess that's what makes her character so interesting. I do love the direction you're taking this. And the subtlety between Quistis and Laguna, very well done. I'm glad they're 'getting on' with it. I do hope it doesn't last long though and I'll get to see them back together. Ellone and Seifer should pair up.
Oooh and you used the 'f-bomb'. Naughty, naughty. Haha, just kidding. It actually suited General Blavely, so it didn't seem out of the blue. (Like I can talk).
