I am head-over-heels in love with your writing style, it's different from anything I've experienced before. And the dark humor, the grittiness, the lazy, thick Florida air; this was one of those fics that's simply fun to read.

I'm looking forward to checking out more of your work! :)

I like this one. It was really cute and kinda sad.

So a good mixture.

Poor Cas, and his drinking problem.

Sam and a "plumbing problem", XD

Poor Dean, too sick to get any.

Great descriptive language of his illness.

I feel bad that Dean doesn't tan as well as Sam and Cas.

It seems like he would have to wear lots of sunblock.

This was awesome. Cas/Dean Friendship stuff always makes me go all mooshy.

""No he isn't," he rasps out, because it's scorching sore in there now. "He isn't getting weaker. He's – saving himself for me. That's what it is."

So much love for that line.

"And when he sees that it sticks in his heart, because he thinks maybe he isn't worth it."

Oh, Dean.

""You did, Dean," Cas replies neutrally. "Unfortunately I wasn't aware that your request to talk down the big white telephone was an indication you wished to be taken to the bathroom to be sick.""

So perfectly Castiel.

""No," he wheezes. "No fuckin' way. Not you. You don't ever do this, ever. Do you hear me? I never want to see you like that again, never."

Cas stares back at him. "It makes the world turn quiet and disappear," he says softly. "But the world always comes back, and louder than before."

Dean can feel himself listing over, comes to rest with his head on Castiel's shoulder.

"We stop," he murmurs. "Both of us. We're not going to be those guys, Cas. I mean it.""

Oh yes, this. A really nice distillation of how I see the relationship between these two. Dean cares more than he'll admit and Cas cares more than he understands.

So much giggle fodder here; Dean thinking out loud w/o realizing it, "now Dougie, he never kilt no one, well least not on purpose, cuz that gun goin' off wuz an accident", Jack as comfort food, "Hazmat suit! Quarantine! Unclean!", musings on SweatGirl, Cas getting barfed on and dealing in his usual matter-of-fact way, sippy cups and Sam snaking SweatGirl's pipes. So much love.

Lovely to see something that brightens the hellatus! This is very sweet and laugh out loud funny too (Bobby-Jo: is she real? I get the impression she might be!). I have a real weakness for Dean being foul while sick and this is just as enjoyable as Half Past Dead. Nice to think the boys and their angel might get a break from the Apocalypse, and the image of Cas floating on the lilo is wonderful! I love how you undercut it with pathos though – Dean feeling guilty about Castiel's exile from Heaven, and those hints of 2014 Castiel in this story. Just gorgeous as always! Looking forward to your next epic!

Hey, just read this and loved it sooooo much. I love Cas and Sam looking after a sick Dean. I had so many favourite bits I don't think I should bore you with listing them all! I will say that the Shirley Temple was a nice touch x

Hiya hon - it's so good to hear (and read!) from you :-)

And isn't this a lovely ad for Florida? Gotta love it :-) Especially in Winchester-season! Hey, I think I missed to review your last "Winchester-Flu" story, but it was brilliant, and so is this one! You make a real art out of Dean-in-pain. As always I'm in awe for the vivid world of Dean's imagination and how you make it visible - like in one of the first paragraphes with the desert of his throat and the Bedouin on his camel trotting along... so funny. (And Peter O'Toole - yummie - I told you that I loved him in this film, did I?)

Every single scene is playing in full colour and sound before my inner eye - the chatty waitress at the bar (Bobby-Jo? What-the...), the greedy Best Western and Dean sitting at the pool watching that really sweaty girl mowing the lawn (and my - I could feel a touch of Florida-HEAT there ;-)

Cas - so funny and yet a bit sad. Loved how Dean feels guilty for having changed the angel and how he berates Cas for taking the same kind of "medicine" as Dean (that was a brilliant topic - hilarious, how Dean even checks the Shirley Temple ;-) Loved how Dean for once feels safe and sheltered in the presence of Sam and Cas (and hey, that's ginger-honey-thing? Exactly what I take when I have a cold - hot, spicy and delicious). And Sam fixing the plumbs in the end? ROFL! That's simply not right :-) (No, just kidding: he deserves his good times too! I'm glad it's no demon. Well, I HOPE it's not...)

Big time, Kathy! And special thanks for Dean and Cas in Florida-shorts sipping drinks from Babyzone :-) Gaywatch live!

xxx Kate

Aw, this is so cute and weird - right on the border of

crack!fic but still so cute, and with adorable Dean/Cas (plus some really cute Sam/Dean tossed in the mix). Thanks for sharing.

Hey Girl! I'm glad you're back. Loved the story. But you know me. I just wished it was longer so you could expand on the hurt and agnst. I'm waiting on your next juicy multi-chap.

God, Florida in August. Nailed it right on. I'm living every minute of it. *uggh*

I snorted, snarked, laughed and choked the whole way through this one! Love a delirious!Dean. He is so awesome when he's sick. The epitome of typical sick man behavior!

The thinking out loud was inspired. It was nice that Sammy was actually getting to see what Dean thought since he never shares. The brotherly feel was touching.

Cas! What an awesome Angel! Doing all he did to make Dean feel better. The thought of him in gaudy board shorts floating in the pool with a girly drink was too much! Add in Sam and his plumbing...Pure crack!

Please another one soon!

This was just perfect, fantastic and wonderful...totally laugh out loud at points. I had to keep pausing in my reading just so I could get myself composed enough to carry on. As usual the interaction between characters was just spot on. It doesn't seem to matter who you are writing; you always manage to get their voices, characters and emotions just perfect which is why it is so easy to see your stories in my head and this one was a real pleasure to read/see.

I love the way you write Sam and Dean, the brotherly love and banter is great and I love the sick Dean in this, he is hilarious.

There is nothing better than a nice bit of hurt/comfort especially when Dean is hurting and Cas is comforting. I adore the friendship between these two.

Loved this line...

"And so he sucks down his natural throat remedy for no other reason than that his brother researched it online and made it himself with honey his angel flew to New Zealand to fetch. And that gives him a warm feeling inside he'll never admit to as long as he lives." ...

It gave me a warm feeling inside too. As did this whole story.

The parts with Cas and Dean are just adorable...

"He thinks Cas might be rocking him."...just made me melt inside.

Then the perfect ending, Dean feeling better, Cas being Cas and naughty Sam off unblocking pipes.

An absolutely fantastic piece of writing in all ways and I thank you so much sharing it with us.
