Surprisingly, I don't hate this OC. Normally, I feel like OCs can be killed with fire and I'll cackle on my way out the door, but I actually really like Rima! :D We shall see where this takes us, I suppose! Rock on! This is really good writing, too, which is always a relief to see! :D

Well, I think, this story really has some potential. Although I'm not sure whether I like this whole "judgement" idea. I thought that the movie conveyed messages of hope and peace between the forest and the humans by showing druids, who carried human babies grown in trees in their hands. Besides I find it a little strange that only one "human tree" is enough to judge *all* remaining humans on the planet. Shouldn't such a "trial" be as objective as possible held by numerous judges? Furthermore the forest sees almost "everything", as you said. (And I think this is also implied in the movie.) Therefore the forest already knows everything there is to know about humans (to name some extremes: love and self-sacrifice, hatred and greed). (Do not forget that it had ~300 years to learn.) This raises the question whether Rima's mission is really about the judgement of the humans or whether the forest hides her *true* mission. ;-)

You said, that you wanted to rewrite this story. Then how about a plot where Rima learns more and more about the "ways of the humans" - both the good and the bad qualities. Regarding the bad qualities: You may include an experience for her that will be so "bad" (in her *subjective* imagination) that she practically runs back to the forest to proclaim her judgement that all humans are guilty and should be devoured by the forest. This experience should have something to do with the nations of Ragna (- Ragna should be a loose conglomerate of nations scattered around the world, who embrace technology as a form of freedom and independence from the forest, while Neutral City is a similar conglomerate of nations but with a life style that depends on the forest -). But the forest wouldn't even acknowledge Rima's presence much less answer her. But later on that night, she would dream about a woman, who seems really familiar to her and in fact looks much like her but is devoured by the forest (along with all the other people Rima liked) because of Rima's judgement. And this would become a recurring nightmare until she understood that she probably judged prematurely.

Much later she would eventually learn about the full range of human behaviour including love. Having experienced both the bad and the good qualities of humans, she would finally feel confident enough to pass judgement on them and judge that the humans may live on. Only then the twins would reveal themselves before her once again and reveal her her true mission. They would tell her, that they never intended to really judge the humans, because this "trial" (more like "Armageddon") already occured a few centuries ago. And both the humans, who killed so much intelligent and self-aware plants later on, and the forest, who accidently killed so many innocent humans at the beginning in just a few seconds, when they descended from the sky (- opening of the movie, where the moon is destroyed), have committed much evil. It would be revealed to her that she has been created as yet another attempt to be a bridge between the humans of the nation Ragna and the forest. The long term idea would be to unite all the remaining nations on the planet (regardless whether they're aligned with Ragna or Neutral City) under one "green banner". She has been sent to the humans closest to the Forest in order to *study* and *learn* human behaviour and critically reflect on it. The twins decided that the best way for her to be a good student would be to deceive her and send her on a "mission of judgement".

The rest of the story could then revolve around Rima's attempts to gain the support of as many nations as possible for the cause of the forest. In order to win Ragna over to the forest's side, the forest would allow Neutral City nations to use advanced technology, like it has been used 300 years ago. However the application of these technologies would happen under constant supervision from the druids to ensure harmony between nature and technology. This would make the Neutral City nations superior to Ragna, because Neutral City would have both: advanced technology and the forest's support. As a result some Ragna nations would join Neutral City while others would continue to fight. Those who continued to fight, could simply be ignored, because they would be too few to be of any significance anyway. The new worldwide "Neutral City" would then grow and prosper like a tree. Eventually the forest would use "seed technology", that would be used to spread the forest's presence in the solar system. The trees and humans would colonize and terraform Mars and the upper clouds of Venus. Especially the upper clouds of Venus would become an enormous global forest floating ~50km above the venusian surface (search for "Landis Venus floating cities" on the internet). Both forests could then grow adapted humans on these planets. In short: the forests would spread in the solar system and the humans would spread with it. :-)

Anway, the way I see it, your story really has potential.
