Yay, "Hiccups" senses are back...wowzers, a full year ehy? Got some catching up to do then. Also, am I the only one who finds Hiccups bond with the little-biter kinda cute and endearing? No? Just me? K'ay, that's cool.

Ok, I'm gonna rant a little here...
I'm not too surprised that at this point, hiccup still doesn't know why he acts more dragon than human...however (and this is assuming this has something to do with it, if not then...well nevermind) toothless should. You see, back when he changed hiccup, he said the very first thing he changed was his "soul". His innermost being. What makes hiccup hiccup. He said he "forced it to change" into that of a dragons, essentially "rewriting" hiccups very being. You see I think that hiccup thinks he's only been changed physically, but (and I'm surprised toothless hasn't said anything) toothless changed the very fabric of "hiccup" to that of a dragons so it doesn't surprise me he has instinctual dragon-like tendancies...almost like he's "more dragon than human".

Sorry, that's just my little rant. I'm liking this fanfic and don't intend to stop reading anytime soon ;)

Y'know...they aren't being particularly understanding of hiccups position nor bothering with the circumstance that demanded it or even trying to comprehend the "why" and just skip to the "how could you"...and dont even get me started on how they dont even remotely try comprehending the fact that this whole situation had been forced on hiccup: banished trom the tribe, shunned by his father, never hoping to recieve ANY kind reciprocated love (not that he had much to begin with), and everyone (father especially) wanting him dead simply because of what he now resembles (again not by choice). If the word "unreasonable" had a picture in the dictionary...it'd be a picture them (save for Fishlegs since he at the very least made an effort). However, if it had a synonym in the thesaurus...I'd say the word would be "Astrid". *sigh*
.
OK rant over...just needed to get that off my chest. On a side note, this is VERY intriguing and am curious how future events are going to play out...all I can say at this point is 2 words..."poor hiccup" :/

Incredible. Love the take on dragons & their magic. And Hiccup as a night fury? Gah. Love it.

I've reread this story a lot and up until this part one thing has always bothered me: Why did Hiccup never tell anyone else from Berk that with Toothless there was the possibility to change him human again?
Even though later it's revealed that he couldn't, that reasoning would have given a lot more relief and some understanding(from the human's pov) to why they shouldn't kill either of them. The main characters still hesitate for their own reasons, but it would have cleared up so many of the misunderstandings throughout this part of the story.
Hiccup never even considers(or dismisses) this line of reasoning even to placate his peers from the village. And the reasoning can't be bc then they'd be afraid of dragons randomly transforming people bc there were witnesses when it first happened to Hiccup so the possibility already exists even if not considered before.

I read it over a few times but couldn't figure it out. Sad that it's over, but probably the best HTTYD Fanfiction story I've ever read. I just saw your video today and props to you for it all. If you aren't already, you'd make a great author of your own stories :)

Truly spectacular. I've dedicated multiple hours a day for the past week to read this fic, and I don't regret a single second. I've read countless fics in the past and have felt extreme sadness after finishing each one, but none have left me as distraught as this particular story. The simple fact that this story has reached a conclusion saddens me to no end, and your writing akills make it so much more sorrowful to leave. The adoration I have for the characters is like nothing any other writer has been able to form, and your skills can only be described as masterful. Thank you for making this amazing fic and giving me one of the most enjoyable weeks in a long time.
