This kinda reads like Cecil and Firion have some deep-seated emotional issues that they're not working out. Firion comes off as overly-affected by physical intimacy, while Cecil seems to be obsessed with thoughts of being abandoned. Maybe that's what you were going for?
I would've figured Cecil for the physically-sensitive one, considering how much time he spends in full-body armor.
