That doesn't even make sense. Is Konoha's security so lax that kidnapping attempts are carried out so often? As much as I like Sarutobi - by far, he's my favorite Kage - he fucked up with this. By letting the populace and shinobi know that Naruto was their hero and idol's son, Naruto would've been even more protected and watched over by virtue of being known as the Yondaime's son.
Hell, the first 8 years of Naruto's life were spent hating Konoha and slowly becoming another Gaara. If Sarutobi's security is so lax that the equivalent of an intelligent nuclear weapon has had multiple kidnapping attempts against him, that's hardly his fault. It reflects worse on Konoha when you consider that Naruto would've happily gone off with his 'kidnappers'. And really, these other miscelleneous villages wanting to kidnap Naruto just because he looks like the Yondaime? Suna has economy problems, Kiri has a civil war, Kumo has a bloodline obsession that would've automatically disqualified Naruto on acoount of no-one knowing who he was, Taki's small fry...hell, I'll even repeat it; no-one knows that Naruto is the Yondaime's son and the Kyuubi jinchuuriki, except Akatsuki.

this beginning isn't bad. You have a multitude of paths to take for naruto. Will he shape up? Will he take off his mask of idiocy? Will there be seals on Naruto other than the Shiki-Fuin that messed up his growth? You have many choices. I look forward to reading more. Good job so far!
