This is really cute. :) It actually makes me very nostalgic - I had a place like that when I was a kid. I got inspired by Terabithia and made it my own little kingdom, with imaginary fantasy-creatures as my people. I even tried to grow flowers, but the forest ground wasn't exactly ideal for that... :'D Anyway, it was a pretty magical place. There was an old, broken well, and in Spring, the whole place would be full of snowdrops. I loved it there.
Sadly, a few years ago, someone bought the whole property and tore it all down. It's just another neat garden now. Talk about being forced to grow up...

AW! *U* This was awesome! *U* Loved it! *U* Can't wait for the next chapter! *U* Gosh, poor Dick, but at least Alfie's fun, and he'll learn to love Bruce soon enough! *U* Besides, now with his own Secret Garden (LOVE that reference, by the way! ^U^), he can be happier and get away when he needs to! *U* Rock on! I loved reading The Secret Garden and watching the first movie (the second one kinda face planted), so this immediantly caught my eye. It's very well written and I can't wait for the next chapter! XD

What were you talking about-this story seems great to me so far. 8| The writing in this chapter flows well, and it really sounds like you're in Dick's head, which is good. 8D I like the opening couple paragraphs, with Dick thinking about what home is. It's sad, and it like, gives a good sense of how he's feeling. I also like the last few paragraphs; the parallel to Secret Garden is nice.
You have Dick and Alfred really IC too. 8D Like, when Dick interrupts Alfred. Not that I'm /that/ familiar with either, but still. Dick's thought process over Bruce and his 'urgent business' feels logical, and it makes sense, along with how he feels about it.
