I'll have you to know that I created this account for the sole reason that I want to be notified IMMEDIATELY whenever the next chapter might come out.
I simply LOVE this story so hard, I grew addicted to it and finished it in just two days, now I'm struggeling with my my empty, purposeless existence. Like, seriously, I've got some withdrawal symptoms going on here.

I really, really hope I can motivate you into picking the story up again, here's my go at it:

I fell in love at first sight. As I reread The Iron King for about the fifth time, I basically stumbled across Machina's attractiveness as a character and when he tried to coerce Meghan into marrying him, I thought it would make for a reeeally nice smut if Meghan for some reason couldn't defeat him and agreed instead. You know, with those cables of his... do you see my train of thoughts? Right.
Additionally, I thought it was a shame, killing off this character right away, seeing to his great potential, even without that other set of... abilities. *giggles not maturely at all*
So I searched on several fanfic sites and was disappointed when I couldn't find much. Like, seriously, I wondered if I was the only one who'd love to see this ship setting sails.

However, there was one - your - fanfiction that sounded quite promising, if not quite as smutty as I would've liked at the time.

However, I was instantly enchanted as I began reading the first chapter. I already liked what I saw when you included the original text of the book as the starting point of your story. I prefer fanfics that stick closely to the descriptions of the original characters. If the characters behave really differently for some kind of plot convenience, it simply feels off.
Yours on the other hand blended quite marvellously with the original storyline and developed naturally. At that point I soon realized I wouldn't get my kinky smut right away but I liked that. Stories like that are usually shortlived and unnatural. So basically, I came for the smut but stayed for the plot. (I read the smut your friend wrote, following your steamy deleted scene though, it was reeeeally nice, too, btw, hehe.)

The more I read, the more addicted I grew. I had started reading at about 10 PM and could only tear myself from it at 3 AM. 10 AM the next morning, I was back at it, seriously only pausing to eat and pee until I was through with it at 9 PM. That was just now. So, as I immediately broke down in tears (not literally, I'm not THAT desperate, just almost, I sniffed a little I think), I created this account and started to write this review.

Point is, I need this. I NEED you to start writing on this story again because it's not just a story, it's like a whole book! Do authors just drop their books half finished? No they don't! (Probably some do but you get what I mean.)
You haven't updated in almost a year, please don't let me lose hope. Usually, when authors don't update their stories for a year, it's usually dead. But, HA, they probably don't have readers that are quite as persistant as me!
By the way, you said you'd already written four pages of the next chap? How hard do I have to beg, I'd really do anything! We'll strike a deal, right? You can have anything but my first-born child. You know what, maybe you can have even that!

Hnnn, what else should I write. Better flatter her some more so she'll start writing again with ultimate enthusiasm.
So, what do I love about this story? Well, firstly, I can say I approve of your taste of music, the songs you proposed really set my imagination going. That's right, it was really easy to imagine all these scenes played out, the characters came alive in my head. Your writing style is simply amazing and hardly any worse than the orignal. They're really quite similar, actually, which is another plus since that makes the stories fit together ever so seamlessly. I also love your choice of vocabulary; there aren't too many fancy, unnatural words but it doesn't sound too casual, either.

But now my best argument, behold! You're. A. Plot. Mastermind!
How did you even think of that?! I couldn't have thought of that plot twist if I'd had... like, I don't know, a lifetime! I was so pissed when I thought you'd killed off Machina and already saw my beautiful ship sinking to bottom ground. Of course, that didn't stop me from reading on ever-so-greedily. Heck, I don't think I'd have abandoned the story even if you'd killed of Meghan herself!
So I was even more so pleasantly surprised...cross that, alright, I whooped and danced though the livingroom in joy. I think my parents seriously must have contemplated my sanity at that point but they probably know I'm already long-lost.
And then that final scene when Meghan wakes up again and talks to Machina... SO. GOOD!
I could basically taste that sexual tension. And you know what, I liked the taste of it. It was pretty damn delicious, actually, soooo... I NEED MORE OF IT! *giggles concerningly*

When Meghan was out cold, I even thought your plot to be more believable than the original plot, being tangled and complicated as it is. Meghan/Tertius wasn't too bad either, for some amount of time, but let's face it, nothing can best the Meg/Mach tension going on here.
I felt oddly disattached from Ash, who I'd always viewed as the ultimate prince charming but, honestly, Machina's character is just so much more interesting!

Sooo... yeah, what else can I say... just by reading your comments on the story, I thought you were a really likeable person, hence my - err, honest and open, I guess - review. Of course, I understand if you can't continue writing for personal reasons but if you just lost it from view, I'd just love to smash it right back into your face, hopefully poking your eyes a little so you can't help but notice. Wait, this is my chance, chrm, chrm... NOTICE ME SENPAI!

This story is incredibly well written for a fanfic, it's really as if Julie kagawa wrote spin offs with a different ending, just as this is. Honestly, I really hope it's still a TertiusxMeghan because you made me ship them hard it hurts to see their relationship so fraught with miscommunication and hurt. Btw, idk if you still want a beta or if someone else already is, but I'm completely fine to be this fic's beta, though I have no experience and actually don't know what that entails. Anywayssss, I hope you'll find the time to update this soon and I know the pains of writing a fic yet having rl in the way and then having a huge break. Well I still hope that you're still invested in this story and you plan on continuing (it's also quite sad to just stop 5 years of work and leave it unfinished, though I may just be saying this because I want to see this updated) Don't even know if you'll see this or even read through this but really, keep up the amazing work!

WHERE IS THIS WONDERFUL NEXT CHAPTER WE WERE PROMISED? *cries* Haha I know you said you'd be on hiatus now, and I know totally understand how real life can get in the way. Whenever you feel like coming back to this story, just know I am still heavily (perhaps unhealthily) invested in this. I was just rereading it and appreciating how awesome it is, and I'm dying to know what happens next. Especially now that they have an alliance, I'm excited to see a new level of badassery :) please please please update soon!
