I was also genuinely depressed when I got to the end.of the book and realised there was no trick, that Jack had someone had a miraculous escape. I even had to re read all the bits where it mentioned Jacks death. I've been reading for years and it was 20 minutes ago the exact moment I finished the ninth and final book of the Alex Rider series that I realised just how much books can affect people. And that final book affected me more than I'd have thought possible. Jack didn't deserve to die. I loved your short story of Sabina and Alex in his room, it was very moving. I just wish Antony Horowitz had made another chapter going into the kind of detail you did, the aftermath of Alex being a teenage superspy. I've rambled so much here but I'm glad I read this.

I can't express in words how much I love this fic. It's made the top of my list. Alex is perfectly written - beyond perfectly written. And the story about how Jack was going to resign a few days before Ian's death - that was heartbreaking and cruel and terrible. But it was also complete genius.
