This was wonderful. My heart aches for Neal's confusion.
I've actually had some experiences like this. After you actually wake up (it has happened to me after sleeping) and try to put things together in your mind, everything gets confused. I think the hardest part is somehow knowing you're not making any sense, knowing that what you're saying is wrong and that you're confused, but at the same time you're not able to form words and connect your thoughts into what really is going on.
Keep going I definitely want to read more! :)
