Aww, you know. For some reason, I like Kate/Derek. First because Derek's hot and I'm sorry not the whole world likes slash. Second she's the only damn female on the show old enough for him. And I kind of like that she's bat shit crazy and no way in hell should they ever be together. But if you're a good enough writer, it's that kind of impossibility that is the most fun to pull off. Break her character out of her blind grief and lunacy, then who knows. Whedon was a master of the unlikely couplings, let's see what these people can do. If they can't, then you do it. :)
