This is REALLY good. Keep it up. In the beginning, I would have written it:
"No, no, no, no, DEFINITELY no, um, NO. Why aren't there any good books anymore? What's with people?"
Or something like that. I don't know. I really liked this though. You should probably add more commas, and put more into what Kitty's thinking. Just a little though. Not much. Keep it up!
